Have you had the best Bahn Mi sandwich in Cincinnati? It’s available at Le’s Cafe, which is located on floor 1.5 of the main library downtown. It is a spectacular and big sandwich from a spectacular and little shop. And everybody seems to love it. Check out reviews from Wine Me, Dine Me, and Cincinnati Bites, and more. But I’ve heard a rumor that the library is not renewing the lease for the owners of Le’s Cafe, which is trouble for other reasons, too. Apparently, they are incredibly kind to poor people and homeless people who might come to their restaurant with not quite enough for a meal. That’s what I’ve heard anyway. Cincinnati should not lose a great sandwich, a great lunch spot, and a place that treats the less fortunate so warmly!
That’s why I just wrote this letter to the library:
To Whom It May Concern:
Word has it that the library is not renewing the lease for Le’s Cafe. This is troubling not only because their Bahn Mi sandwich is the best in Cincinnati, but because they provide a service to those disenfranchised patrons who might not be treated so kindly at other restaurants. Losing Le’s Cafe, particularly if against the desires of the proprietors, would be a loss for Cincinnati.
Can you confirm or deny these rumors?
The Dean of Cincinnati
I will update you if more information becomes available.
UPDATE: The library says Le’s Cafe is letting their lease run out, and opening a restaurant on Court Street.
