The Cincinnati Beacon
Todd Portune’s Letter to Chris Finney
Saturday, September 09, 2006

Posted by The Dean of Cincinnati

This week, Hamilton County Commissioner Todd Portune issued the following letter to Phil Heimlich crony and backroom operator Christopher P. Finney, Esq.  In addition to being a must-read, it is absolutely hilarious!

Chris,

I read your invitation to the upcoming “Meet and Greet” with Phil Heimlich.* It was so astonishing I had to respond.

You wrote that Phil’s agenda has been thwarted by “stiff and consistent opposition from a liberal cabal of social service groups, left-wing media and, yes, liberal Democrat Todd Portune.”

After I stopped laughing, it occurred to me that you might actually believe this. Hamilton County’s been under Republican rule for 30 years. If there’s a liberal cabal and left wing media conspiracy, you’re the only one who seems to be aware of it. Chris, what have you been smoking?

Another thing, I wouldn’t be so quick to make accusations of secret-keeping and conspiracy. The way Phil conducts county business behind closed doors, he could give the NSA some tips. Then there’s the matter of Phil’s relationships with those he favors with county appointments.

Chris, your rhetoric’s on full boil and it’s only Labor Day. You might want to pace yourself.

Cheers,

Todd

  2. Westie Westsider says:

I still want to know where the left wing media in Cincinnati are located?

If the Enquirer is left wing media, I think the question is still out for debate if they even qualify as a media outlet these days, who the hell is Finney and Fhillie talking about? I guess it must have been some of the stuff the smoked in their youth that is causing the flashbacks-...“It’s 11 o’clock in the TriState…..” and Big Al delivering the news? Or was it Skipper Ryle reading the news then? HELP!!!

But would someone help explain that comment? I’ve even heard that Chabot is starting that line. Help me please figure it out. I’m so confused. And we have to vote for these people…NOT….

Ouch, that hurt. Good one Todd!

  4. Phil-atio says:

Chris Finney is a douchebag of the first order. I find it hard to believe that he is really that delusional. I think these crooks are getting desperate. A change is gonna come.

  5. one advocate says:

did anyone read or can they find the slam the editor of the loveland herald did on finney the fink ( i love saying that)regarding those poor women and arrested for owing 55 cents and 1.16intaxes.  the big windfall was finney got 6K and the women arrested for such frivilous crap got a lousy 2K each.  that’s a 60-40 settlement split favoring TOAST.
    finney is a fink
as to todd’s letter, while finney poops his pants at the ass finey made of himself, i laughed so hard i alost ped my pants.
by the way—i think the public should know that heimlich’s pit crew thinks of the MR/DD, childrens services ( poor marcus) senior services ( remember that movie death race 2000(?) where the rolled the elderly out into the street for the race course drivers to kill to earn points) and children’s hospital are a “liberal cabal of social service” groups—how absolutely shameful!!!!!!!
no wonder heimlich’s pit crew and finey the fink are cutting services to every vulnerable group of citizens without a voice ithe republican party

  6. cincysue says:

Oh yeah. Cincinnati’s right up there with Berkeley, California! Let’s see. We’re about the last non-southern segregated city of its size in the U.S., (blacks over here, whites over here, uh-oh where do these Latinos go?) gays still securely ensconsed in their closet (if they know what’s good for them), constant, intense debate about non-issues like prayer in the schools while ignoring guns in the schools, zero focus on social issues and programs for an ever increasing, yet invisible poor and disenfranchised population, a scant dozen or so dedicated and overworked peace, women’s and civil rights activists that show up at every protest. Oh, and lets not forget the ample dollars found to fund planes flying incessantly overhead pulling banners of what they claim are aborted fetuses (can you say PhotoShop?)while “the born” below don’t have necessities. The local giggling gal and jovial guy talking head “newspersons” do a thrice-daily bob and weave salways uccessfully avoiding real news. When they are begrudgingly and only occasionally unable to avoid a real issue, statements like, “Terrorists in Gitmo will enjoy the benefits of Geneva Convention” or “There is absolutely no risk to residents from smoke spewiing out of the leaking train car,” shaking their dyed heads in collective disbelief and/or affirmation—whichever they’ve been instructed is appropriate. Hours of what could be news time is devoted to the inticacies of how the weatherperson determines if it’s going to rain or not.

There has never been and will never be a politically-left presence in Cincy/Hamilton County. The most you’ll get are middle of the road polititians, akin to the Clintons, that somehow got a liberal label though their politics are decidedly conservative.

What is Finney smoking? If only it were that simple.

  7. Patrick says:

Todd’s medicine must be causing him delusional fits again.

  8. Phineas A. Phagg says:

Kevin Osborne ran the Portune letter today. Poor wittle Chris has his knickers in a twist!

  9. elephant in the room ... says:

that the left liberal bias as reflected in this blog and others is seen as a threat is very good news. keep up the good work here…
