Westin, 3CDC, Cincinnati:  Fix the road to nowhere!

Dear Westin, 3CDC, City of Cincinnati:

As you may know, we have worked to get the Fountain Square parking garage under 3CDC’s management to become more handicapped accessible—advocating for better wheelchair curb placement.

As you are probably also aware, the stairwell from the garage to the Westin is not handicapped accessible, despite the fact that cut curbs encourage wheelchairs to enter an elevator which will lead to nowhere.

It is my understanding the area in question is owned and maintained by the City of Cincinnati.  However, the space has connections to both the Fountain Square garage and to the Westin.

Rather than pointing the finger, I request that all three of you collaborate towards a solution.  Commercial grade wheelchair lifts can interface with the existing space in a cost-effective manner.

Respectfully,

The Dean of Cincinnati
