As we approach the anniversary of Sean Bell’s death from a hail of 50 police bullets, the NYPD is now facing another scandal over killing another unarmed African-American. Khiel Coppin died Monday night in a hail of 20 police bullets. He was 18 years old and only carrying a hairbrush.

According to http://www.democracynow.org, Coppin’s mother had called the police for help following a violent argument with her son. Coppin reportedly had a history of mental illness. According to witnesses, one police officer shouted in vain for the others to stop shooting.

The NYPD gets paid to protect and to serve, but as this Michael Moore video shows, they have a serious problem with seeing things. Michael Moore on NYPD Racism & Police Brutality is a fun video to watch, but it’s sad that these injustices continue with such regularity.
