Armor of God PJs: Unfortunately, this is not a joke… Thursday, January 17, 2008

In light of my introduction to ”Wholesome Wear,” my head has been spinning for a few days since finding out about Armor of God PJs. I’ve met Christian Jihadists who would love to make a fashion statement like this, but would that be going overboard in an attempt to align with interpretations of Christianity?
My problem is not with the fact that people are “religious”—rather, it’s the extent to which some take their beliefs to the fringe and beyond. I may not agree with a mainstream Christian’s opposition to gay marriage, for example, but the majority of Christians are not radical and extreme Jesus Jihadists. This emerging and growing population of American Christofascists has really started to stun me.
Take some time to review the Armor of God Pajamas web site. And remember—the site is not a joke. It is not satire, or parody, or anything. Apparently, there are really people out there who think that dressing their children like Knights Templar, with words like “Righteousness” over their chests, will protect them from Satan each night.
The “salvation” helmet for the boys’ outfit really blows my mind out of the water. Don’t forget to check out that “faith” shield.
I can’t wait for the rapture to get here to take all these people away…
