VA Tech Shooter Cover-Up?

Today, I received an email from someone with a photo. The sender requested that I report on what he suggested is a cover-up of sorts regarding the VA Tech shooter who went on a rampage a few months ago. I figured I would just post the email, without the sender’s name, and a copy of the image. Is there a story here?

Many people have photos; did you intend to write “I received an email today that included a photo.”?
Obviously someONE sent you an email.
Would the good folks in Middlebury be proud?

On surface they do not look like the same dude. One would have to take the first picture and do the weight gain.
Didn’t the mother identify the shooter ?

Not to mention that the sender of that picture probably doctored it some to make their point even clearer.
I quick search of google revealed the same picture that hadn’t been darkened to make the skin color look so drastically different.
And yet another reveals the picture showing a thinner face.
Might be time to remind people of this.

I tried to include no indication one way or another what I thought. I did find it interesting, though, to receive the picture and a polite request to post it. So I just posted the email and the picture. You are seeing what I saw.
Does it mean anything?
I see a few possibilities:
If the thing is a fake, why was it done? Is someone trying to make this into an urban legend?

Yea - I’d say that they’re the same person with different:
* Weight
* age
* Hairstyle
Beside that, the fact that these are taken with different cameras (and almost certainly different focal lengths) & different lighting. That in itself will make two pictures look pretty different, even if the stuff mentioned above is the same.
Someone is trying to pull one over on you and/or start some kind of internet buzz. At least you’ll get some ad revenue if this catches on.
