Perhaps, you cut yourself short when it comes to winning ?
Fischer paid $250,000 to buy a council seat and he ended being a non-contender.
Do what is best for the community and you may be surprised.
The power-players are lock-em up bureaucrats while the voting mothers are tired of their sons being scared for life because of the local police state.
You may be surprised.

It’s interesting that Hurley tried to pin the primary on Jason even though Jason was the second candidate to announce. Dr. Wenstrup still doesn’t have much of a platform while the Dean has taken positions on nearly everything. Hurley spoke as if it’s Jason’s fault that the city has a wasteful primary system that will cost more than $500,000 instead of Instant Run Off elections.
IRV has been proven to work here in this country and abroad. IRV will save money and be more democratic by being less of a burden on citizens.

Appeared quite dapper in that new blue suit Jason! however, that cape would have been memorable, whose your campaign manager anyways? Remember few years back when Grisco Sylvan ran for council and the old Beacon was still around? Well as I recall someone posted the idea of Grisco supporters making their own yard signs supporting him, you should do the same, even give awards for various categories. Hmmm, think I’ll paint something on an old folding card table chairs for use at bus stops that don’t already have a bench.

Justin, I agree completely (obviously), but I just took the time to do some math with a new piece on the pointless primary:

I’m surprised that Hurley got the history of the costly primary wrong in the beginning of the show. The first primary was on 9/11/01. He usually has his facts straight.

See all you naysayers…Jason owns more than shorts and can dress up when he needs to.

“Bearman says: 28 Jun 2009 at 03:06 pm | # See all you naysayers…Jason owns more than shorts and can dress up when he needs to”
Needs to learn to tie knot.
Then how to center without looking.
We are always crisp, Dean.

Very nuce Jason
But don;t count yourself out.
Bigger upsets have happened when the common man has kept it simple and connected to the base.

FF, it was centered when I left home. I didn’t think to check myself in a mirror before going into the studio. My deepest apologies.

This is the OLD DEAN, that I use to know and Love.
The Dean who ran the Beacon on the cutting edge, who ran stories that no one else did, who kept politicians on the edge of their seat wondering if the video camera was going to show up, who worried if he was going to corner them with hard hitting questions.
Wish you were more like this all the time.
