Proposal for Rumpke: “Munchkinland” Myth Marker!

To Whom It May Concern:
I recently read with great interest a story about how Rumpke acquired “Handlebar Ranch,” which has been the subject of urban myths for generations. As you probably know, teenagers continuously look for “Munchkinland,” that fantasy property filled with miniature structures for little people.
I thought it would be a good idea if Rumpke would consider erecting a “Myth Marker” now that the structures of the Handlebar Ranch have been demolished. In addition to quenching the curiosity of intrepid adolescents (which provides the added benefit of ending their aimless driving through winding wooded roads), a modest Myth Marker could generate some buzz—which has the added benefit of publicizing your business.

Apparently, little people villages are not limited to the U.S.
Most Surreal Moment - Watching Marines arrive at my detention facility and unload a truck load of flex-cuffed midgets. 26 to be exact. I had put the word out earlier in the day to the Marines in Fallujah that we were looking for Bad Guy X, who was described as a midget. Little did I know that Fallujah was home to a small community of midgets, who banded together for support since they were considered as social outcasts. The Marines were anxious to get back to the midget colony to bring in the rest of the midget suspects, but I called off the search, figuring Bad Guy X was long gone on his short legs after seeing his companions rounded up by the giant infidels.

I have always been curious in midget tossing—though I have never done it, and probably would not want to. But it may be interesting to interview such a midget.

I think these comments are in poor taste. I denounce them as offensive. Why do we have to use derogatory terms.
As to Munchkinland - a reference to the Wizard of Oz - I think it would be great

If I had a dollar for all the times we went looking for them- I wouldn’t have to work for a living. Why not just pick up the phone and contact one of the Rumpke Family directly. They are a nice family who might do something like this just because- some of them were doing the same thing!!!!!

When was Handlebar Ranch demolished and why. Did Anna(the owner) pass away or give up? Are there any remnents(sp?) left of what used to be referred to as Munchkinland. I planning to write a book about “Midgetville’s"(ive already been to 5 in the eastern U.S.) across the country and I wanted to come and take a picture of where the most wonderful little village existed! Please send me an email...I dont know when I will be back on this site to check for a response.
