Jeff Berding at “Uncounted” Screening

Posted by The Dean of Cincinnati

Cincinnati City Councilmember Jeff Berding attended this week’s screening of ”Uncounted: The New Math of American Elections.” He joined filmmaker David Earnhardt and international elections expert Bob Fitrakis in speaking on the importance of election integrity for the future of American democracy.

"This is a powerful movie that people should see,” said Berding.  “It is not a partisan tale—rather, a testament to the power of individual citizens (including both Democrats and Republicans) taking action in defense of our democracy.”

“There was an enthusiastic group in Cincinnati and many of them knew of the issue,” said filmmaker David Earnhardt.  “However, many didn’t realize how pervasive the problem is throughout the country. After they saw the film they were highly motivated to share what they had learned and many walked away with dvds saying they wanted to share with everyone they know.”

“Bob Fitrakis from Columbus was there and spoke to the crowd - many of whom were aware of his work - at length,” continued Earnhardt.  “The audience was interested in learning how they could apply some of what he had done in Columbus to election integrity issues in Cincinnati.”

Uncounted is a must-see for anyone concerned about the future of American democracy, especially those concerned that corporate special interests are slowing taking control away from the people in the name of increased profits for the favored few.

Seems like a pretty progressive event for the Beacon’s hated Birdling to attend.

Maybe he’s more GREEN that you thought?

The people have spoken and he won.

    Had enough?  Vote DEMOCRAT!

There should have been more representation of local politicians, and I applaud Berding for making a showing at this important screening.

Those interested in the movie have probably already seen it, and unfortunatley, it wasn’t all that great.  Itwas and pretty boring actually, if you were already aware of the issue at hand.
