Hamilton County Performance Dashboard, Mid-Year 2008

Posted by Media Release

Attached is the most recent report from Hamilton County Administration on the progress made on the jail front.  As you can see, in spite of the doom and gloom threats during the sales tax campaign, there still have been no early releases of male inmates.  Early releases for female inmates have dropped significantly as well.  All of this is in spite of the loss of 400 jail spaces in Butler County.

  1. Wow says:

Maybe Pat DeWine should remove the following “accomplishment” from his website: “Negotiated a contract with Butler County to provide an additional 400 jail spaces – the largest expansion in County jail space in 15 years.”

Rather than spending money on reforms, it turns out that his and Heimlich’s deal was the biggest wasted $10M going-and one that has the County in its current fiscal emergency.  The current commission is investing in reforms instead, and getting better results at a much lower cost.

  2. says:

Wow 2:56 - You might want to check the Commission voting records first.  You’ll note that both Portune and Pepper voted for the continued funding of the Butler County contract on every single opportunity they were given.  But don’t let the facts get in the way of your partisan hatred of DeWine and Heimlich.
