I was recently contacted by Izzy Forman on behalf of NBC. He was aware of the fact that I had wondered why local media like The Enquirer did not see in the upcoming “Clash of the Choirs” program an opportunity for Cincinnati to shine. He asked that I share this promo:
Forman also asked that I share this link, about how people can still submit video to be featured on the program.
I fully realize, on the one hand, that by posting everything I just did I have given NBC some free advertising for an upcoming television show. At the same time, I think it’s noteworthy that the Enquirer decided to fabricate “facts” and to write a negative story about what could be a great chance for Cincinnati to shine.
I also wonder about figures like the Mayor. He had no problem touring the county about his ridiculous baseball pitch, so why not try to utilize this moment to benefit the City? I mean, aren’t there any local political types with connections to Nick Lachey?

Deano,
You are right on this one.So the show is a bit hokey, but it does put Cincinnati in a positive light that the Enquirer can’t grasp. All we get is negative press and rewritten AP wire copy from them. So are they truely the voice of Cincinnati. Unfortunately, the answer is yes because they are the daily paper. Now that is sad. They have no real reporters any more and really look at our tv coverage, they will still be covering the weekend stories on Monday morning. It’s just terrible all the way around.

It’s weird, though. If the subject is 3CDC, then everything is great. The Enquirer is selective about what it celebrates.

The Enquirer is a joke. It doesn’t report anything of any interest other than boring statistics and crimes. Seems like them dropping the ball on this isn’t strange, but rather typical of The Enquirer. Read the NY Times sometime and see how real reporting is an art, not a recitation of facts.

Absolutely ubelievable. I saw the ad on TV and wondered the same thing. I guess I assumed that stories would come out closer to the airing of the show, but then again, that may be presuming too much.

I am a bit sad at the way they portray the auditions as Nick going around on a trolly picking up those who auditioned. That wasn’t how auditioneds happend. I’m still trying to stay posative that it sheds posative light on the city...but i’m not impressed with the promo on the NBC web page.
