When I had the opportunity to ask Ralph Nader a question at a pubic forum, I wanted to get his take on 3CDC’s corporate takeover of Fountain Square—especially in the context of how public spaces are being occupied nationally. I must say I was presently surprised by the round of applause my inquiry garnered from the audience. And I found some of Nader’s examples noteworthy, particularly the idea of having an American treasure like the Statue of Liberty taken over by private corporate interests.
