Recently, I wrote about one of the activist-oriented emails that crows my inbox daily. But the ColorOfChange.org message was, in many ways, very normal compared to some of the other things I receive. (How do I end up on these lists, anyway?) In the past day or so, I have gotten weird emails from some Ron Paul supporters who keep freaking out about an upcoming “quorum,” and some from an account called “Hillary for President,” urging Clinton supporters to either stay home on election day, or to vote for John McCain.
Check out the title line of the Ron Paul email: “WE HAVE A QUORUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NEVADA CHANGES THE COURSEOFHUMANHISTORY........”
Here is an excerpt:
For those of you who REALLY WANT, DESIRE, AND NEED TO HAVE A FREE NATION....Nevada has set a landmark in the halls of history.....Today they have reconvened and remade the NEVADA GOP...and even as I am posting this they are electing delegates to the NATIONAL CONVENTION....(mostly, if not all, Ron Paul delegates) THIS WILL COUNT TOWARDS RON PAUL WINNING THE STATE OF NEVADA....which will allow them to NOMINATE HIM FROM THE FLOOR which is what this whole thing is really all about. Once he has a state that he legally wins(ie gets the majority of delegates for that state) He can then be nominated for President at the National Republican Convention. THIS MEANS THIS CAMPAIGN IS IN FULL GEAR!!!!!
Here is how the message ends:
For this reason shown above they now have a new quorum that is roughly 300(a bit more) delegates. And now business is taking place with full legality and force of law behind them. WE THE PEOPLE SHALL AND WILL PREVAIL!!!!! LONG LIVE THE REPUBLIC OF THESE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.....now GO spread the word to every man, women and creature that we can still win Ron Paul the PRESIDENCY OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!!!
I believe this is from the same group who recently sent a treatise about how Ron Paul is a genius for stepping down from the race because that means he can raise money with no limits—and the delegates can still choose him at the convention, or something.
And, in other news, the “Hillary for President” people…
We will not support Senator Obama now or on November 4, 2008. Senator Clinton’s vote is her own; our votes are our own and they will not be cast for Senator Obama. The Just Say No Deal Coalition members will still either choose to stay home in protest, write in Senator Clinton’s name or vote for Senator John McCain. Our votes are our voices and Just Say No Deal’s voices are over 2 million strong and growing. And by the way, we say, “H.O.U.N.D. = Heck, Obama’s Unqualified, No Deal!”
They even have a web page: http://hillaryclintonnews.blogspot.com/
Are they for real? Why would Clinton supporters vote McCain? To protest? Why not go third party? Is this group real, or a joke?

Because they are too smart to vote for a third party candidate. Why waste your vote?
The problem is obama’s inexperience as far as they are concerned. The nation is better off with a McCain with experience then an obama with none

Is that a better idea than voting third party? Just curious…

I have heard alot of serious people that think that if they vote for McCain, and he wins, the theory is that it will be like 4 more years of Bush and she can run in 2012.
It is not official. There are alot of die hard HRC fans, that are very upset to which they feel, and maybe correct that the nomination was stolen. I know people in Florida and Michigan that are PO’d about what happened. In their minds, and maybe accurate, the far left of the party stole this election for Obama.
Probably true, but I have heard many say they will vote McCain, as between the 2, he will not hurt us as bad as Obama, yet not be strong enough for re-election.
I actually think Nader makes the most sense, but somebody big and powerful is behind Obama. All this time, and his pundits are still saying “ when you get to know him and what he stands for”. One would think that at least Hillary and Nader have already told us why hasn’t he? he has been on the trail for 18 months and we have to get to know him? Scarey

Yes it is because third party voting is a waste. The call is to stay home instead of voting for obama like everyone expects no to throw away your vote.
Besides if your issue is wanting someone with experience why would you vote for Nader, Barr or Keyes? Why vote for someone with little or no experience compared with McCain?
