According to a KING-TV news report, Mike Shrock (the founder of “Wholesome Wear”—which offers swimming suits like those pictured to your right) first got the idea “at a home-schooling conference when a speaker complained about the lack of modest clothes.” Is there something to be said for the lack of modesty in modern fashion? Is applying that concept to swim-wear taking the idea too far?
When many Americans see the rules in Islamic countries governing how a woman should dress—covering up most of her body except for the eyes, for example—we interpret this as the oppressiveness of an evil enemy. But what about the evangelical Christian Jihadists, who have been organizing an army for Jesus?
Is it too extreme to fear a future with mandated Christian Wholesome Wear? And if that is too far, what about an emerging environment where the soap-boxes are colonized by a moral majority seeking to evangelize at every turn, transforming simple family vacations at the water park into Christ-laced confrontations about alleged improper behavior?
Yes, I know—these Christians are just trying to save our souls from eternal damnation. But didn’t anyone tell them that the Jews were right?

People are free to wear what they like and dress their children as they wish so long as they don’t force those standards on everyone else.

Did you see this?
People like Mike Huckabee want to bring the constitution in line with the standards of the “living God.”
Huh?

Wow, and I thought Lands End was dowdy! Not only do the women have to swim in yards of extra fabric, they have to do it in what look like Star Trek uniforms. The built in girdle thingy is a nice touch. Where are the men’s multi-layered clown suits? Do they have to swim in a freaky outfit too? Or can they just wear that XXXL t-shirt they bought at the creationism museum?

Do they want women to drown? Try swimming in that thing.

Dean,
Yes I’ve seen the horrors of of Huckabee’s promised theocracy.
But that doesn’t change the fact that this person is offering alternative swim wear. People should be free to make their own choices, even if we don’t like those choices, or think it’s weird.
I hope the business man makes himself and his customers happy.
Is it so hard to believe that their might be social conservatives that don’t try to force their beliefs on everyone else?
Huckabee on the other hand want to shove his beliefs down everyone else’s throats. That makes all the difference in the world.

We actually think the outfit is sexy. It is stylish and for some body types enhances the individual’s character.
It would appear that the individual pictured is average. The average female is a little chuncky (just as the average male is, so lighten up). Males, though, can wear the baggy shorts and offset the negative. The girl in the picture reveals a very pleasant face and sensuality of innocence. That little school girl look. (no, we do not hang around the playground either. We live close enough that we see from our side window with a pair of opera glasses - lol, lol, lol).
Anyway, she reminds us of Lancaster county, PA. An Amish community and, of course, PA is the chocolate capitol of the world. About a twelve hour drive. The last trip back, over and over, all that came to mind were those Amish women and that hershey highway !

You knuckleheads don’t get it. It’s about an individual’s right to do as they please. It doesn’t mean you are a jihadist if you want to dress more modestly, and it doesn’t mean you are immoral if you want to go butt-nekkid.
Enjoy life. Embrace diversity.
