We like everything the mayor did except cutting the arts.
We especially like the co-op program.
The County should ramp-up that program for JFS ?
Can you believe that the pools always come up when the amount is a drop in the bucket ?

This is the mayor’s input?????
For this we pay him?
Where’s the rest of the budget?

The budget is the city manager’s job. That is why he gets paid. These are recommendations by the mayor of things he does not like in the budget. By not making changes to the rest he is agreeing with the manager he hired.
If you want the mayor to do the budget then start a petition drive to get rid of our current form of government.
dietershmied… sometimes i think you are the biggest idiot that posts here.

The budget is not only the city manager’s job. In fact the budget is really the job of city council. It is the primary job of city council. And when we went to the “strong mayor” , he was supposed to have more say. In either case the ultimate responsibility of the budget is the council and the mayor as they have to approve it.
The so-called recommendations put forth by the mayor were insignificant at best. This city has so many problems that I would think that changes should be made. When changes are made, the budgets should also change unless we are continuing down the same old path, which is what is happening. In the case that we are doing the same old things, why do we even need a mayor or council?
The idiot in this case is one that thinks that change can take place without changing the budget. Perhaps you don’t want change because either you are content with the status quo or you have no ideas or solutions which reflects your ability to think.
As starting a petition drive to get rid of our present form of government, each time that I considered that path, I realized that I would have to educate the public, which , like yourself, would be unwilling or unable to understand the dynamics of any proposals for change. In the face of the reality of educating the citizens, I keep concluding that Cincinnati is not worth it.
It should be a good indicator that change should be occurring when the city manager wants to charge for one of the most basic of services: garbage pick-up. I believe the city manager was to have said that he didn’t think he could afford to do garbage pick-up in the future. It seem obvious that the priorities of this budget needs adjustments. Who gets paid for the needed adjustments?

Does anybody get that this is a political stunt? Mallory HAS the city manager knowingly propose gimmick revenue streams so that he can put his red cape on and save the day by nixing those pesky plans for new taxes.
We are all being played. Mallory didn’t even devise the scenario - he had the city manager figure out what would tee off the public in their childish game of good cop, bad cop.
This is a sham.

The Mayor has NO real power. When will everyone finally realize this. Now hear this. Now hear this. The Emperor has no clothes!
