Cincinnati should follow the lead of cities like Los Angeles and San Francisco, sponsoring a regional night of turning off the lights. (See Lights Out LA, and Lights Out SF.) The events are billed as “a citywide energy conservation event on March 29, 2008.”
I had originally mused about a similar concept here, and then I learned that other cities were actually having success with such programs.
I wish Cincinnati would implement something like this. In fact, it may even be possible to jump on board with the upcoming March 29th date. How many other cities, if any at all, participate in programs like this?
Cincinnati would certainly be the first in the region, which would have a positive effect on the City.
