Is Gov. Sarah Palin a new principled future for the GOP or a sign of its “end time”?

Posted by Justin Jeffre

Some Republicans are saying that Gov. Sarah Palin is “a new principled future for the GOP.” With new revelations coming out about her one must ask, what does this say about the future of the Grand Old Party and what they value? And what are we to think of the “journalists” and the “liberal media” who knew this story and conspired with the RNC to keep the voters in the dark? Here’s a recap of how the thrilla from Wasilla, Sarah P., became the GOP’s candidate for VP.

When former “maverick” (and current pandering puppet for the right) John McCain named Sarah Palin (an agent of intolerance) as his running mate back in August most Americans had never heard of her. Palin made her national debut at the RNC in St. Paul where she sought to cast herself as an antidote to the elitist culture inside the Beltway.

GOV. SARAH PALIN: I’m not a member of the permanent political establishment, and I’ve learned quickly these last few days that if you’re not a member in good standing of the Washington elite, then some in the media consider a candidate unqualified for that reason alone.

Of course virtually unknown outsiders with little experience don’t suddenly get picked to be the candidate for Vice President of the Untied States of America. A closer look reveals that Palin actually was courting these elites and despite her lack of “knowledgeability” about basic civics (like what a Vice President actually does) and geography (like what nations are in North America), Washington elites like Bill Kristol had found a star.

According to Fox News Chief Political Correspondent Carl Cameron, there was great concern within the McCain campaign that Palin lacked “a degree of knowledgeability necessary to be a running mate, a vice president, a heartbeat away from the presidency,” in part because she didn’t know which countries were in NAFTA, and she “didn’t understand that Africa was a continent, rather than a series, a country just in itself.”

Perhaps part of the reason Palin doesn’t seem to know much is because she is said to have inquired about banning books, when asked, she couldn’t name any newspapers. The Anchorage Daily did said, “Few who have worked closely with the governor would argue she is truly ready to assume command of the most important, powerful nation on earth.”

Were these Washington elites just smitten with her? You betcha and apparently they were desperate to find a replacement for McCain’s favorite choice for VP-former VP elect and Al Gore’s running mate, Joe Lieberman-so they came up with a theocratic fear monger. (Yes there really is no difference!) They needed to find someone to fire up their theocratic base because simply being endorsed by the bigoted Pastor John Hagee wasn’t enough to cut it.

Ironically, while this virtually unknown candidate was going around the country refusing to do interviews and saying that we really didn’t know enough about Obama she was talking tough about his ties to domestic terrorism.  When asked about abortion clinic bombers by NBC’s Brian Williams, she refused to say whether people who blew up abortion clinics are terrorists.

Brian Williams: “Is an abortion clinic bomber a terrorist, under this definition, Governor?”

Sarah Palin: “There’s no question that Bill Ayers, via his own admittance, was one who sought to destroy our US Capitol and our Pentagon. That is a domestic terrorist. There’s no question there. Now, others who would want to engage in harming innocent Americans or facilities that it would be unacceptable, I don’t know if you’re going to use the word ‘terrorist’ there.”

(According to Newsweek magazine, The Secret Service reported threats on Obama’s life peaked after then-Republican vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin accused him of “palling around with terrorists.” Palin was referring to Obama’s tenuous ties to William Ayers, who once hosted a gathering for Obama during his first run for office.)

Palin’s foreign policy “experience” was clearly solid because she could see Russia from Alaska. The fact is she never even visited Little Diomede, the remote island where you can actually see Russia, but she did have a long conversation with French president Nicholas Sarkozy. (Ok, well it was just a prank call that lasted for seven minutes.)

But who really needs foreign policy experience when you know God’s plan? According to this report there are concerns about her well-documented belief that she’s living in the “end times,” we’re all living in the “end times,” and that her interpretation of the Book of Revelation may be driving her public policy and particularly her foreign and military policy views.

Sarah Palin: “Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending them out on a task that is from God. That’s what we have to make sure that we’re praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God’s plan. So bless them with your prayers, your prayers of protection over our soldiers.”

The gospel according to Palin apparently says the construction of a new oil pipeline in Alaska is God’s will.

Sarah Palin: “I can do my part in doing things like working really, really hard to get a natural gas pipeline, about a $30 billion project that’s going to create a lot of jobs for Alaskans, and we’ll have a lot of energy flowing through here. And pray about that also. I think God’s will has to be done in unifying people and companies to get that gas line built, so pray for that.”

But while the “liberal media” didn’t inform voters about all of these these issues, there were reports of a growing number of Republicans that expressed concern about Palin’s performance on the campaign trail and her understanding of key issues. National Review columnist Kathleen Parker has called on Palin to step aside. Parker wrote, “Quick study or not, she doesn’t know enough about economics and foreign policy to make Americans comfortable with a President Palin should conditions warrant her promotion.”

Criticism of Palin intensified after her interview with Katie Couric on CBS. During the interview Couric asked Palin about the proposed $700 billion bailout of Wall Street.

Sarah Palin: “But ultimately, what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the healthcare reform that is needed to help shore up our economy, helping the—oh, it’s got to be all about job creation, too, shoring up our economy and putting it back on the right track. So, healthcare reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions and tax relief for Americans. And trade, we have—we’ve got to see trade as opportunity, not as a competitive, scary thing, but one in five jobs being created in the trade sector today. We’ve got to look at that as more opportunity. All those things under the umbrella of job creation. This bailout is a part of that.”

Palin apparently refused preparation before her disastrous interview with Katie Couric. (Not exactly a hard hitting interviewer.) And then she blamed her staff afterwards. It’s also been reported that Palin would view press clippings of herself in the morning and throw “tantrums” over the negative coverage. There were times when she would be so nasty and angry that her staff was reduced to tears.

Palin returned for another interview with Katie Couric, this time with John McCain. Couric questioned McCain about Palin’s interaction with a voter in Philadelphia on Saturday when she contradicted McCain’s stated position on Pakistan by saying that US troops should absolutely go into Pakistan if that’s what needed to stop the terrorists from coming into Afghanistan.

Katie Couric: “Is that something you shouldn’t say out loud, Sen. McCain?”

John McCain: “Of course, not. But, look, I understand this day and age, ‘gotcha’ journalism. Is that a pizza place? In a conversation with someone who you didn’t hear the question very well, you don’t know the context of the conversation, grab a phrase. Governor Palin and I agree that you don’t announce that you’re going to attack another country.”

Couric: “Are you sorry you said it?”

McCain: “And the fact”—

Couric: “Governor?”

McCain: “Wait a minute. Before you say, ‘is she sorry she said it,’ this was a ‘gotcha’ sound bite that—well, she was in a conversation”—

Couric: “It wasn’t a ‘gotcha.’ She was talking to a voter.”

The “fiscal conservatives” in the GOP spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on clothes and hairstylists for her which was quite a contrast with her down to earth “hockey mom” image. And though the campaign was largely out raised by the Obama campaign, reportedly $20,000 to $40,000 went for clothes for her husband.

Ah yes, this brings me to my favorite part of the story. Todd Palin, the self-described “first dude of Alaska” and spouse of this arbiter of what is and who is the “real America” and who isn’t, is a secessionist and a would-be vivisectionist of the United States.  (Now remember, the author/maverick of this would-be disaster ran under the slogan “country first.")

Todd Palin was a member of an anti-government Alaska Independence Party. Sarah Palin is not an official member of the party, but she has attended party conventions and even addressed this year’s convention.

GOV. SARAH PALIN: I’m Governor Sarah Palin, and I am delighted to welcome you to the 2008 Alaskan Independence Party convention in the Golden Heart City, Fairbanks. Your party plays an important role in our state’s politics.

According to reporters from Salon.com these characters are very paranoid, conspiratorial people who loathe the federal government and believe that the federal government is responsible for all the ills that have befallen their state. Its founder, Joe Vogler, said, “I’m an Alaskan, I’m not an American. And I hate America and all her damned institutions.” Palin was supported by them and helped to further their agenda. (For instance when she stepped down from her city council seat she appointed a guy known around town as Black Helicopter Steve who was apparently known to be violent.)

They went on to report that she was blessed by a (witchdoctor) Pentecostal pastor named Bishop Thomas Muthee. The Wasilla Assembly of God, Sarah Palin’s church for over twenty years, flew him over to bless Sarah Palin when she was running for governor. He blessed her by saying that we need more Christian leaders in all of the seven spheres in society, and he complained that there are too many Israelites—a codeword for Jews—in government and that Sarah Palin would be a remedy to that. After he said that, she walked up and turned her hands up to the sky and closed her eyes and allowed him to lay hands on her and protect her from the spirit of witchcraft. (If you need a witch doctor, doesn’t that mean you are a witch?)

John McCain’s touted his honor but was willing to put an ignorant, theocratic secessionist that he had only known for hours a heartbeat away from the Presidency. Clearly the Grand Old Party has no principle other than staying in power at any cost. Progressives should pray that Palin is the future of this party because that must surely mean the end of times for at least one of the corrupt corporate parties (in this case the GOP) that have been driving our country into the ground.

The Sarah Palin Story--A true story of a woman with blind ambition and a wicked right free throw shot!

The Maverick trotted up on his GOP white party horse and it was him,. “It is I!” he shouted.  There was a gleam in Lil’ Miss Sarah’s eye as she rushed to the carriage wearing a tattered blue hoody with the words “Secessionist For Life” written on it.  As she hoped into the carriage it was a bitter-sweet moment and there was a tear in her eye.  As the carriage pulled away she waved beauty-contestant-ly at her step family standing there in their ragged garbs, hungry but hoping. She screamed, “Farewell my beloved family--I’ll miss you most Trig. Piper be sure to take care of your little brother.”

Before the Maverick took Sarah to the GOP ball the carriage stopped off at the finest stores, and she bought the finest things, the finest things that the RNC money could buy. But unfortunately for Sarah, money couldn’t buy integrity, loyalty, common sense, or book sense.

When the Maverick took Hockey mom/Beauty contestant to the Elitist Republican Ball.  The GOP scoffed, and turned their pointy noses up at the Red neck woman who would be Queen of this great nation. Or Vice Prez of this continent or country.  As they scoffed at her, and laughed at her, and threw pebbles at her, and called her names, and laughed at her constant use of the word “there”, Sarah broke down in tears.  But Sarah could not be broken after all she had ambition,, blind ambition.  She was a maverick and she was with a Maverick, the man who would be king or Prez….

Unfortunately for Sarah things didn’t quite work out as she planned when she left the ball they sent for the things they’d given her...and called her names...and threw pebbles at her...Oh well she cried..."There’s always 2012.” Or maybe not.

  2. Freedom Fighters says:

    .

After being found to have abused her authority in the attempted firing of an adverse party, it sounds like more of the same to U.S.

    .

  3. says:

Yes, there’s actually much more to her story, but it started getting way too long to go into everything. It’s amazing how McCain undercut his whole experience argument by choosing someone with no experience. She hadn’t been Governor for long. Wassila was a very small town and the Mayor didn’t have a whole lot of responsibilities.

They were trying to find someone to match Hillary. I’m obviously not a Clinton fan, but she is very intelligent, knows basic civics and geography and she has some experience. I don’t think you can say the same thing about Palin, though she may have some charisma.

  4. says:

I can’t wait to see an oliver stone flick about this bullshit.

  5. says:

I’m no Hillary Clinton fan either. However, clearly, Sarah Palin is NO Hillary Clinton.  Palin was clearly out of her league. I heard her state in an interview that had she had more control over the situation in the campaign, she would have done things differently. It makes me sick that the the media keeps talking about her handlers...she’s not a animal. I don’t know a part of me sympathizes with her and all she’s been through...but another part of me feels she got what she deserved.

  6. says:

Justin, we’re counting on you for a Palin post every week over the next four years. Don’t use up all your material so quickly. Better to release it in small doses and develop each argument to really hammer home how unacceptable she is to the left. Pace yourself. Otherwise our side will get to define her without rebuttal.

  7. says:

Mark, don’t worry, there’s plenty more and she’s just getting started. You don’t need to redefine her, you need to tutor her. Start with showing her a map and explaining which countries are in North America and what the difference is between a country and a continent. Then explain what the Vice President does. Then explain what the bailout is about.

Are you really standing by this endorsement and saying she’s ready to run the country given these new revelations?  Wow!

  8. Norwood Woman says:

You aren’t kidding she’s just getting started.  In two interviews aired yesterday, Palin revised Katie Couric’s question about what news sources she reads to, “What do you read up there in Alaska?” She said she refused to Couric’s question, rather, the question as she revised it (during or after the interview?), because it was offensive, and she was sure her displeasure showed.  Please, someone send her a transcript of the Couric interview!  Not that it would do any good.

  9. says:

Once again I am glad I read this blog. Everytime I do I am reminded of how our of us receive our information and process it differently.  Of course once again I can not agree with any of Justin’s conclusions, nor do I take at face face any of the quotes of his sources.

I do hope that Gov. Palin runs for the Presidency.  She is very qualified to lead this nation.

  10. says:

    Justin -
You would never support anyone for the Presidency that could garner over 3% of the popular vote total, so why should I give a shit about what you think of Sarah Palin?

  11. says:

Norwood Woman, she knows she’s lying and trying to cover up her blatant ignorance. What’s offensive about asking a Vice Presidential candidate where they get their news from? Even if she had asked specifically about where she gets her news up there in Alaska it wouldn’t be offensive. She’s offended by the question because she couldn’t even name any newspapers that she reads because like Bush, she doesn’t read them.

I could see her being offended if Couric had asked about her husband the secessionist or her ties to anti-government groups. They would have been legitimate questions, but I can see that upsetting her. Of course Couric doesn’t throw any hard balls at her, she doesn’t have to. Maybe it’s not polite to question people’s patriotism like Palin does.

I guess Palin supporters must assume she was just being humble and didn’t want to say that she gets her news from God directly. He tells her about his plans for oil pipelines and his ultimate war plans. Apparently he loves war and can hardly wait for the end times. Perhaps he speaks through her witchdoctor or her friend Black Helicopter Steve the anti-government whack job.

Mark, you’ve got to be kidding. Even the McCain camp has told reporters that they were concerned about her lack of “knowledgeability necessary to be a running mate, a vice president, a heartbeat away from the presidency,”. That quote was from Fox news.

I don’t read the Anchorage Daily but the fact that they mentioned that “Few who have worked closely with the governor would argue she is truly ready to assume command of the most important, powerful nation on earth.” as part of their reason for not endorsing McCain says a lot.

The next quote I used was from NBC and the question was asked by Brian Williams. That’s where she refused to call people that blow up abortions clinics terrorist. My source for the fact that the Secret Service said threats to Obama’s life went up after her hate filled rants was Newsweek.

My next source Frederick Clarkson, (according to wiki) has often been cited by major media, including such major newspapers as The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Christian Science Monitor and The Los Angeles Times. His radio appearances include NPR’s Fresh Air, Morning Edition, All Things Considered, and Talk of the Nation, as well as Pacifica’s Democracy Now. His television interviews include CNN, Fox News, ABC’s 20/20, and the CBS Evening News; as well as the BBC and the CBC.

Kathleen Parker was from the National Review and is a Republican. Apparently she is principled enough not to cheer for just any Republican for the White House.

Then there’s Katie Couric’s interview from CBS where Palin just sounds absoultely ridiculous talking about the nearly a trillion dollar bailout for the corporate crooks on Wall Street.

Seriously, what in the hell is she talking about here? Maybe somebody from COAST can explain this. What does healthcare reform, reducing taxes, reining in spending, tax reductions and tax relief for Americans have to do with the massive bailout she was asked about?

I thought COAST was supposed to be from the Libertarian Ron Paul wing of the Republican Party, not from the Huckabee theocratic wing. Ron Paul would never have endorsed Palin.

Mark T. Tiller, where do you get your news from? And I mean no offense by that question.

  12. says:

You would never support anyone for the Presidency that could garner over 3% of the popular vote total, so why should I give a shit about what you think of Sarah Palin?

Oh you mean a corporate candidate. If they didn’t rig the system with a billion dollars in corporate cash, erect extremely high (and undemocratic) ballot access barriers, control the partisan presidential debates and shut Independent candidates out of the corporate controlled media (they get the billion dollar windfall) they wouldn’t stand a chance against some of these Independents because their bailouts and wars are very unpopular. Independent candidates really only get 8 weeks to campaign because the rest of that time and tons of their resources go towards getting on the ballot. We were successful in overturning some of these draconian laws, but without candidates rights, voter rights become less meaningful.

General George C. Scott, you should be very concerned that your VP candidate and the future of your party doesn’t know anything about basic civics or geography. Does it make everybody that supported her look silly? You betcha!

  13. says:

Justin:  the same place i learned how to spell and write sentences (see above), Deer Park H.S. 1973.

Seriously, internet political junkies like myself go to all the usual sites and blogs. Do love Mark Levin WABC , John Batchelor KFI AM 640, The Volokh Conspiracy, the D. Kos, Palestinian Media Watch, Jerusalem Post, Jihad Watch, Conservative Grapevine, Michelle Malkin, Ann Colter, and especially The Long War Journal ( for those who really want to know what our military is doing ).

  14. says:

    Bingo.
-You should be very concerned that your candidate has spewed nothing but rascist vitriole since the latest in his long line of crushing electoral defeats.
-You should be concerned that Ralph Nader, in 4 Presidential elections, has averaged just over 1 million votes per election.
-You should be concerned that Joe Citizen out on the street could never name any of Ralph Nader’s VP running-mates because he’s a perennial loser with no more chance of getting elected than Mickey Mouse.
-You should be concerened that nobody cares who Nader’s VP choice is, where they get their news, what they know about geography, or where they stand on the issues because whoever it is instantly becomes a complete non-factor.

  15. says:

Mark, I’m not familiar with all of those, but they all seem to be extremely conservative. The Daily Kos is the only one that isn’t very right wing and even they banned Peace campaigner Cindy Sheehan from posting on their site after she threatened to run against Democrat Nancy Pelosi for the latter’s refusal to impeach President George W. Bush and cut funding for the Iraq war.

Anne Coulter has to be the worst. According to Source Watch, “Coulter was fired from MSNBC when she told a disabled Vietnam veteran, ‘people like you caused us to lose that war.’ She was fired from the conservative National Review when she turned in a column offering a final solution to the Muslim problem: ‘We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity’.”

    She’s quite digusting!

  16. says:

Matt Gonzalez-the first Mexican-American Vice Presidential candidate in US history-was President of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors (basically their city council). All of Nader’s running mates have been minorities, one a native American woman, the other two Hispanic males.

San Francisco has a bigger population than the state of Alaska and a annual budget of over $6 Billion, which is bigger than Alsaka’s. Like Jesse Ventura, after polling in single digits, Gonzalez was included in the debates and started leading in the polls. A well known Gavin Newsome only beat Gonzalez by a few points and the Democrats had to bring in Bill Clinton, Al Gore and some big names to help Newsome beat a Green candidate.

If you’re happy with having Palin represent your party, more power to you. As I said, I hope Palin is the future of the GOP. By all means make our day and keep running her.

  17. cincysuz says:

You’re kind of a justin-come-lately on this whole Sarah Palin thing. It was fun for a couple of months. You should have joined in then, when it acutually mattered.

  18. cincysuz says:

Don’t forget to mention that Ralph’s Native American running mate, Winona LaDuke endorsed Kerry in 2004 and Obama in 2008.

When she endorsed Kerry, LaDuke said about Ralph, “He was personally hurt,” . “A lot of people don’t know this about Ralph, but he’s a family guy. Most of the people around him are members of his family. He expects immense loyalty. So he’s hurt if you don’t agree with him.”

Of Obama, LaDuke said, “He’s bringing life to the democracy.”

LaDuke was smart and savvy enough to be recruited by Ralph 2 times as his running mate. She speaks highly of him, but doesn’t vote for him. And that from his running mate! Get a clue.

  19. cincysuz says:

Oooohh. I know. You’re trying to make your anti-GOP chops without offending any real, viable republican candidate, office holder or somebody that matters. Clever of you to recap all that’s been said about a has-been laughingstock already settled in for the long, dark Alaskan winter frying up mooseburgers and knitting polar bear fur onesies for her mini-me backwoods baby mama. You betcha there’s no risk there. So when you’re labeled a puppet for the republicans you can go “click here” and we’ll be right back to this hard hitting article. Keep your fingers crossed that everyone will overlook the date and think that you actually took on the republicans prior to and during the election, not after it, and the object of your “wrath”, had come and gone. Sly.

  20. says:

I did comment on Sarah Palin before the election and listed what was known about her at the time. That’s when it matters, right? Of course it was impossible to comment on these new revelations before they were revealed.

  21. says:

cincysuz, don’t forget to mention that Gore’s running mate, Joe Lieberman endorsed John McCain.

Remember how the corporate Democrats demonized Nader-LaDuke in 2000 because they said Gore-Lieberman were too close to Bush-Cheney policies, well obviously they were right. Gore Lieberman rolled over for a stolen election, then ignorant people started to blame Nader, LaDuke and people like you that voted for them. They watched the stolen election and then blamed Nader-LaDuke for “stealing votes”. Some people are dumb enough to feel guilty for voting their values and beliefs.

Obama went and campaigned for hawkish Joe Lieberman against Ned Lamont, an anti-war candidate. Obama even called the warmonger his “mentor”. Obama is still trying to keep this hawk in power. LaDuke knows Nader’s right on the issues, she just lost her courage and was tired of being blamed for standing up against the warmongers. Get a clue.

  22. says:

You’re the only person that lies and pretends I’m a Republican. Any person that has followed this website for more than a week and has half a brian can easily go through our archive and see that I’ve taken on Republicans prior to and during the election including this one. Of course you’ve been proving wrong again and again, but that won’t stop your petty lies. Pathetic!

  23. says:

Of course once again I can not agree with any of Justin’s conclusions, nor do I take at face face any of the quotes of his sources.

Mark, do you really think the sources you listed are more credible than the ones I listed?

  24. R says:

    Justin,

Come on man. Your better than this.  You really think she didn’t know Canada is a particpant in NAFTA ?  She can see Canada from her house. If you really were an expert yourself on NAFTA, you would know that it would come up during negotiations for the PIPELINE deal with Canada. She was able to slash the buget of the LARGEST state in this country, had an 80 % popularity rating with the people she represented, and was able to return a 1,200 check to every man, woman and child in her State. I guess that is bad compared to a State with the 3rd largest unemployment rate in the country.

Do you really think she thought Africa was a country , and yet, she could talk about the situation on Planet Darfur in depth and detail?

Had a Degree ,Majoring in Broadcasting and a minor in Political Science from that awful school, University of Iowa

Then, you site a highly edited interview with dear Ole Katie as basis to prove everything you write?  Because it is Katie, the heavy edits would have no effect on the interview you watched and use as reference to back your summary? It must all be true.

People in the room when these hissy fits happened , are on record that the alleged hissy fits did not happen.

You are going to take the word of people who don’t even have the balls to say these things on the record? Did the thought occur to you that these people are shifting attention from themselves because of all the bonehead mistakes they made which allowed John McCain to lose an election against a guy who has ZERO experience and all kinds of dubious associations with a convitcted Felon, a 1960’s terrorist who actually planned and was directly involved in the death’s of Human Beings, who wished he had killed more? ?  You think these people are trying to shift blame rather than accept blowing an election they should have easily won?

A person who was visiting several states with numerous stops, had the audacity to answer the door of her hotel room in a bathrobe?  I think there should be a congressional investigation of that one. Let’s get Al Franken and put him in charge of that one. Would you vote for Al franken to represent you in the United State Senate?  Just courious on that one.

Carl Cameron is Edward Murrow reincarnated? My thought when I saw that report was he owed someone some favors for things given to him over the last 2 years. He lost alot of credibility with that one report.

Did you ever consider the notion that people in the Republican Party are frightened of her appeal and ability to relate to everyday Americans? Did you take the opportunity to go see for yourself how she was able to relate and speak the same language the majority of the citizens of our Country speak? With all due respect, seeing Gov Palin in person made sitting thru the Nader speech seem like watching grass grow to me, although I do respect his knowledge and ideas.

Do I thnk she was ready for all this? No.  Do I think that all efforts to eliminate her as a future power in the Republican Party might be behind this? No doubt.

You write and just brush off her starting on the PTA, and being Mayor of a small town, so that brings a question for me to you. What is the difference in where she came from, and you thinking you were quailified to be on the City Council? Being in a Boy Band ( I will admit a talented group) and having tickey dance moves qualified you to be on council?  The trickey Dance moves might have been useful with this council, but she had more experience than you did. PTA’s meetings are like cat fights.  I say this all with respect Justine. I just think it is odd you cite being a Mayor of a small town as a negative, when in fact, it is not an easy job in most places.  people can knock on your door, and demand an answer.  Being Mayor of Wasilla is probably alot harder than being mayor of Cincinnati.  You are a crook in a small town, people catch on pretty quick.  I just cant see how you on one hand say it is a disqualification, but Being in a talented Boy Band, makes you qualified for city council. I suppose she did it better than you as she won, she won as Govenor, and you lost for city council. Would you have voted for the Trolley and Red light cameras if they made a deal for something you wanted. To serve on this council, to get anything done that you felt was a good thing ( and you had some good ideas) you would have had to become one of those who you often voice strong objection to . You would have not changed them, you would have had to join them to get any of your ideas done.  They MAY have thrown you a small bone, but unless you joined them, your term as a council member would have been a total Lame Duck.

Again, while I didn’t support all her views, she sure has a large set, and her tiny self can sure take care of herself. Even though many did not support her views, she sure can connect with everyday people, and after the thrill of the kool-aide wears off, I give it 2 years, I think it frightens people that she has such a natural way to connect to everyday people.  2 years, and people will be screaming for that .

BTW the clothes.  Did she demand them, or did the Republican Party do it on their own, before she even got there.  It wasn’t like she had weeks to plan a day trip to Dayton.

Lastly, I find it funny you don’t mention the new Messiah and his Diva. Have you seen the room service Bills for the chosen ones wife, in which she ordered lunch . 800.00 worth of Lobster and Champagne ( which was cheap Champagne) ) for 4 people while at the Ritz Carlton, all paid for by the masses who sent in their 5.00 donations.  So what’s the difference . Did the Obama Camp pay for his 3,000 dollar Armani Suits ? .....  yes.. they ... did..  Where is your outrage there? Did they buy that expensive ummmmm “ Stylish Red outfit she wore on stage in Chicago?  . Yes… they...did Where is the outrage?

For me, I just can’t get over the idea of our new “ Dear Leader, the Chosen one, the President elect of the Untied States of America , chews with his mouth open, and his wife is into that “Junk in her trunk fashion style. . “ I can see it now.  A meeting after dinner at the Whitehouse , where a Head of State says “ nice guy, smart, intelligent, but chews with his mouth open, and talks with food in his mouth. “as he brushes food particules off his clothes.  Classy.  I hope someone has the guts to talk to him about this, and her about her Fashion.

You have better things and ideas to write abut than this Tabloid crap. You are better than the new hate mongers.

I am courious though, if you think being on Saturday Night Live and marketing oneself as a Hater, like Al Franken, makes him more quailified than a Governor of a large State like Alaska?

  25. cincysuz says:

R - you’re a liar. Michelle Obama wasn’t even at the Waldorf when they claimed she ordered caviar and lobster. That was debunked the day it was put out. And Obama has said clearly they are responsible for purchasing their own clothing. It’s not billed to the campaign. The Obama’s can never be accused of extravagance or conspicuous consumption.

Palin is just George Bush in lipstick and heels. A hateful, mean hearted dummy that continues to this day to spread hatred and lies even though the campaign is over. Stupid and easily distracted by shiny objects. Of course the Republican party would like to keep her on ice for just the right top position that requires someone of her caliber. They need that type that doesn’t bother with data or analysis or advisors or intelligence, they “go with gut.” That way the Cheney’s, Rumsfelds, and the rest of the neocons can push their their agendas without bothering to be elected by the people. Drag her back out. We hope you do.

On a personal note, seeing a woman, or anyone, standing atop an animal she just stalked and slaughtered, tells me she’s a crackpot. The picture of the moose still raising its head in agony while she grins like an idiot is an image I can’t get get rid of.

  26. says:

R, What do you mean JJ is good at the tickey dance?  What is the tickey dance?  Do you think Obama and Biden will do the tickey dance at the inaugaration?

Hillary started that “junk in the trunk” fashion trend. Oh you are soooo pathetic. Kidding.

And so what if MO and BO spent 800.00 on a victory dinner with JB and JB. That’s only 200.00 per person. Pretty cheap when you think about it.  I sent the campaign a few bucks and I don’t mind them celebrating change. They just better not do it that often. LOL.

    Best,

  27. says:

R, that’s quite a rant there, but most of it has nothing to do with the topic of Sarah Palin and whether or not she is the principled future of the GOP. I’m not really an Al Franken fan and haven’t written about him so I don’t know what any of that has to do with anything. He wasn’t running for Vice President of the U.S. so I’m not going to address any of that kind of nonsense.

In order to be Vice President of the United States of America you need to understand basic civics and what the Vice President does. Palin dissed the job by saying the job didn’t seem productive and admitted she didn’t even know what the VP does according to this report.

Count Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as one of the most surprised that she was chosen as the running mate for Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.).

In an interview just a month ago, she dissed the job, saying it didn’t seem “productive.”

In fact, she said she didn’t know what the vice president does.

Larry Kudlow of CNBC’s “Kudlow & Co.” asked her about the possibility of becoming McCain’s ticket mate.

Palin replied: “As for that VP talk all the time, I’ll tell you, I still can’t answer that question until somebody answers for me what is it exactly that the VP does every day? I’m used to being very productive and working real hard in an administration. We want to make sure that that VP slot would be a fruitful type of position, especially for Alaskans and for the things that we’re trying to accomplish up here for the rest of the U.S., before I can even start addressing that question.”

Well, Palin was then tapped to be VP. While campaigning, just weeks before the election Palin was challenged with a hard hitting question from Brandon Garcia (a third grader) and she got it wrong.

REPORTER: Brandon Garcia wants to know, “What does the Vice President do?”

PALIN: That’s something that Piper would ask me as a second-grader also! That’s a great question, Brandon. And a vice president has a great job because not only are they there to support the President’s agenda, they’re like the team member, the teammate to the President but also they’re in charge of the U.S. Senate. So if they want to, they can really get in there with the senators and make a lot of good policy changes that will make life better for Brandon and his family and his classroom. And it’s a great job and I’m looking forward to having that job.

It’s bad enough that she-having been a Political Science minor-didn’t know what the VP does before she was the VP candidate, but once she was askedto be McCain’s running mate she should have inquired, don’t you think?  I mean this was Oct. 20th.

As for the Katie Couric interview, they weren’t difficult questions. You can blame the editing all you want, but you see her getting asked about the bailout and hear her response. That part wasn’t edited and I don’t think that Couric was being unfair in anyway.

Bill Ayers was not responsible for the death of anyone. If he were, why hasn’t he been found guilty and put in jail for it? He was not part of the Obama campaign and is irrelevant. Obama never appointed him to any position.

Palin’s husband is part of an anti-government secessionist party. She spoke at their convention and tried to appoint a guy they call Black Helicopter Steve to take her council seat.

Did you ever consider the notion that people in the Republican Party are frightened of her appeal and ability to relate to everyday Americans?

No, they were counting on that to help their candidate that had no appeal at all. That’s why people are saying she’s a rising star for the party. They need somebody with charisma, but they have to find somebody that understands how government works and knows a little bit about the world. Palin simply doesn’t have the knowledge and there are many Republicans that have said the same thing as I pointed out. This wasn’t tabloid crap. I used real news sources; you just don’t like the fact that I’m criticizing someone you admire.

  28. .Cincy<>Capell. says:

Wow, “R” is a kool-aid drinking right wing asshat, isn’t he? Where to start with debunking his lies?

“You really think she didn’t know Canada is a participant in NAFTA” Multiple McCain aides have told Newsweek that she couldn’t name the countries that were in the NAFTA treaty.

“She can see Canada from her house” So what? She can see Russia too, yet she’s a complete idiot about foreign affairs.

“....negotiations for the PIPELINE deal with Canada.” An AP investigation has revealed yet another Palin scandal, this time with crooked bidding in the pipeline, which might never be built.

“She was able to slash the buget of the LARGEST state in this country, had an 80 % popularity rating with the people she represented, and was able to return a 1,200 check to every man, woman and child in her State.” The ‘largest’ state which in fact has the smallest population of any state in the union, with only 650,000 people residing there. Hamilton County has a larger population. And Palin gets more money in earmarks from Washington for Alaska per capita than any other state. Alaska is a virtual welfare state.

“Do you really think she thought Africa was a country” Again, several McCain aides, her fellow republicans, independently told this to Newsweek. Tough shit.

“Had a Degree, Majoring in Broadcasting and a minor in Political Science from that awful school, University of Iowa” Iowa was the last school she attended. Palin attended 5 colleges and it took her 6 years before she was finally able to graduate with a BA.

“You are going to take the word of people who don’t even have the balls to say these things on the record?” Yes we are.

“...a 1960’s terrorist who actually planned and was directly involved in the death’s of Human Beings” Obama has almost no “association” with Ayres. Obama was 8 years old when Ayres committed his crime. Ayres never killed anybody by the way, dumbass. And he never said that he wished that he had killed anybody.

“Would you vote for Al franken to represent you in the United State Senate” Yes we would. Al is a Progressive Democrat, the type that we need more of in congress.

“Did you ever consider the notion that people in the Republican Party are frightened of her appeal” No. She is an idiot hillbilly and a national laughing stock. You and your 19-Percenter wingnut ilk are the only ones behinf her.

“Being Mayor of Wasilla is probably alot harder than being mayor of Cincinnati” What a desperate, ludicrous comment.

“the clothes.  Did she demand them?” By all accounts(except her own, multiple and ever-changing accounts) she did indeed demand them. She was told by her handler to buy 2 or 3 outfits, and instead spent well in excess of the $150,000 that was initially reported. In fact she bought her husband $40,000 worth of clothes. When the deep pocketed GOP donor got the bill for her shopping spree he was furious. The best comment came from a McCain aide who said of the Palins “The Wasilla hillbillies looting Neiman Marcus from coast to coast.” Hilarious!

“room service Bills for the chosen ones wife, in which she ordered lunch . 800.00 worth of Lobster and Champagne” You are quite the dumbass, aren’t you “R”? You must get all of your ‘news’ from listening to Rush. That ‘lunch’ never happened. Michelle wasn’t even in NYC on the day it was alleged to have occurred.

“which was cheap Champagne” You wouldn’t know good Champagne from cheap Champagne, wingnut.

“Did the Obama Camp pay for his 3,000 dollar Armani Suits” Obama owns 5 suits, they are all made by Hart, Schaffer & Marx , which are made in America by the way. I own 6 or 7 of them myself. Obama only owns a couple of pairs of dress shoes, which he which he has had so long that they have been resoled and have holes in them. Wanna talk about John McCain’s $520 Ferragamo shoes?, which his $100 Million Wife bought him, wingnut? I bet you don’t.

“For me, I just can’t get over the idea of our new “ Dear Leader, the Chosen one, the President elect of the Untied States of America , chews with his mouth open” You mean like this?

“...the new hate mongers” You would know hate mongers seeing that you are one.

Get used to saying “President Obama” R. I hope that it sticks in your throat every time that you say it.

  29. R says:

I am actually a democrat. I dont subscribe to the Loon fringe or the Hate element of it though.

I wouldn’t know good Champagne vs Cheap?  Really?  Do you know what my profession is? Once again Suz, you are talking about things you know nothing about . Bollinger is not a good Chanpagne . For a 15.00 bottle, White Star would be a better Value,or perhaps something from New Mexico.

I know what a real Armani suit looks like too.

Hmm, she wasn’t in the Hotel really?  Once again, do you know what my profession is?  She certainly was in the Hotel, or he was with her twin sister. Does he sign her name too? It was her signiture on the bill.  I KNOW people in that hotel. The story is true.

John McCain can’t have 500.00 shoes? Why not?  He and his wife are wealthy and he bought them himself.  Public funds, you know, the ones Obama pledge to take but didn’t, did not pay for his shoes.  Salvatore gave me a pair when he was in my Hotel, so those are the only ones I have , but if you can afford them why not?  Maybe Obama will include those when he buys your gas and gives you a house.  You can thank people like Cindy McCains father for your gas and house. His family EARNED their money.

You waiting by the mailbox waiting for your check that won’t come?  Just go to Hyde Park and steal it. That way you wont have to wait.

Carl Cameron’s employment is under review for that story regarding Palin. it seems that he didn’t follow guidelines for Journalistic integrity.  So, he is a great source.  Don’t see anyone who jumped up and admitted saying the allegations do you?  Someone played him and it will most likely cost him his job.

6 years to finish college ?  Yes, some people take that long because it cost alot of money to go. Her father was a school teacher. They don’t make much money. Alsaka is expensive. I think it shows great character to fight and scrimp to finsh. Most people would have given up.

I didn’t vote for him,( I actually voted for Nader) but I certainly hope he does the country right. I believe in the election process, and the person with the most votes wins, and he won.  I support my country and he has every chance to prove himself. As an Individual, I will do my part to continue to make this country great, and I will protest turning it into France 2.  People in my Family have fought for the Constitution and so will I.  People screamed when Bush walked all over it, lets see if you scream when Obama tries to.

I do find it odd though, that change is what he wants to do, and whats the first thing he does?  Brings everyone from the Clinton administration into his.  I did vote for Bill Clinton twice, and thought he was an excellent President.  Thank God there will be people around him to hep him along and not hurt us so bad.  I personally worked very hard to have Hillary elected. She did not make it, and that’s the way it goes.

You have a tendency Suz, to jump to alot of conclusions.  In regards to me and my positions, you are wrong in every one of them.

Just sit and remember ALL the change he SAID he was going to do.Remember hiring everyone that was there before, is not change., but that’s ok.  Remember it all. The reality is that once in office, things are different than what they see outside, and he will know that most of the stuff he said will change, he can’t.

Don’t be waiting fo that check, house and gas card.  It isn’t going to show up. Like most Polticians, he told you what you want to hear.

The moral of the post was, dont believe everything you hear from reporters ( Beacon should know that ) and that many in the republican party, who are battling for position ( elections 2 years you know… democratic congress approval rate.. less than 17 % ) understand her appeal and are trying to stop it in its tracks.  probably too late to do so.

BTW, although I am a democrat, I really find it queasy that they want to count votes found in someone’s car, so that Al Franken can be a Senator.  If the Beacon thinks it is ok, I would remind them of the story they published , outraged about a red pick up truck. ......

  30. says:

R, the bottom line is that Palin didn’t even know what the VP did and after she got picked as the GOP’s VP candidate she didn’t even take the time to find out. She made no sense when asked about the bailout. Those are facts and you can see the video yourself.

That makes the reports about her not knowing Africa is a continent or which countries are involved in NAFTA very believable. Fox is a right-wing “news” organization and even they are standing by the story.

Palin went around telling us who and what the “real America” was while she was married to and appointed people in an anti-American Secessionist Party.

I don’t know why you keep bringing up Al Franken. We haven’t commented on him one way or the other. We are outraged at the lack of integrity in our electoral process. Both parties are pathetic in this regard.

  31. .Cincy<>Capell. says:

"Bollinger is not a good Chanpagne [sic]” For a 15.00 bottle, White Star would be a better Value” Bollinger is not “Chanpagne”. Moet & Chandon’s White Star Extra Dry has not been $15 for at nearly 20 years now. Not even in Kentucky.

If you think that Obama is wearing Armani suits, then not only do you NOT know what an Armani suit looks like, but you do not know the fundamental difference between Italian & American designed suits. Obama’s suits are unmistakably American, with natural sloped shoulders, two button notched lapels and a long yoke. Italian suits feature square, padded shoulders, higher set buttons and a tighter higher yoke. Then again, I doubt that you would know a cheap Value City suit from a Hart, Schaffner & Marx or a genuine Armani. Philistine.

As to Mrs. Obama’s alleged Lobster Lunch, wingnut “R”, the story was an INTERNET rumour about Michelle Obama’s very expensive room service lunch at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York consisting of lobsters, imported caviar from Iran and champagne racking up to a total cost of $447.39. The Truth is that this story was based on an article published in the New York Post on October 17, 2008.

Four days later, however, the Post removed the article from its website and all links about it were directed to a retraction of the story.
The retraction said, “The source who told us last week about Michelle Obama getting lobster and caviar delivered to her room at the Waldorf-Astoria must have been under the influence of a mind-altering drug. She was not even staying at the Waldorf. We regret the mistake, and our former source is going to regret it, too. Bread and water would be too good for such disinformation.”

Many of the forwarded rumours contained a graphic picture containing an itemised receipt from the Waldorf-Astoria.  This was taken from a posted flyer that was created by Puma PAC, a political action committee in support of John McCain for President.  The flyer can be found on their blog site.

So much your so-called “source”, Wingnut R. HA HA HA!!!

You have been proven to be a liar. Yet again. You are nothing but a smutty smear merchant, and nobody is ever going to believe anything that you say ever again.

  32. R says:

Newsweek, the Post, NY Times, MSNBC , all just report facts.

The Champagne .. I think in distributor prices, but f you pay more than 20.00 for Bollinger, you are being ripped.

I am a democratic wingnut.  Ok, that will work when someone in the part I have pretty much always supports, chants “ change” and yes we can” and starts the first day, doing what everyone else always does. The same is not change.

Scott Rassmussen, a pretty much respected guy says Fox news was the most balanced in their reporting than anyone else.  You might be thnking about Bill O’Reilly, or that Hannity guy, and I don watch either of them.  NBC/MSNBC the most biased.  Don’t watch them either.  Ny Times.... well, lets see if they can dig out of this hole financial. Their bias cost them alot of money.  NY Post?  Aliens landed on White House lawn was my favorite story.

I saw Palin speak, and what ever you think, she had the ability to speak to regular people.  People respond to that. I don’t believe reports when someone who won’t give their name, says someone is a dumb, greddy B*&^h and throws hissy fits. Even if she did, she should have, as the people covering their ass blew an election.  If Carl had that information for weeks, why did hr rush it thru on his last report for Fox?  He says something is true, so it is?

Newsweeks own managing Editor, said on live tlevision, in his own voice when asked about their coverage and individual reporters..., said “ we have alot of people and serious ethic questions to deal with”. He would know better than any of us. Or was he lying? Which would just keep it going in circles.

Jack Welch, who as Chairman of GE, which owns NBC and MSNBC said of both “ when I ran the company , they were good then”.

I never said anything regarding the Waldorf . I know that is not the Hotel in Question.  It was lunch not dinner.

My point was this. Carl Camerons report , he says someone told him this all happened. The person he hinted that told him the story, she said it did not happen. So, for you bashing Fox, why would you think it was true because Fox reported it? Yes, his job is in question based on the outcome of their investigation.  I think it was more likely that someone was covering their ass for blowing what should have been 20 nothing ballgame. If you want to say something about someone, say it. Nothing wrong with that.

Alaska’s budget is 6 billion? Actually it was 8,170,039.4, but hey, what’s a couple of billion?  The fact is, they ended up under budget and were able to refund approx 1,200. to every citizen in Alaska.  That’s pretty good management for someone who doesn’t understand what she is doing isn’t it?  Has Our President Elect run anything approaching that size budget? No.  I am not busted his chops for it, so why do you bust hers for doing what anyone would consider an excellent job in a governmental budget?  She hasn’t reduced Alaska to rasing Dog tag fee’s to get by.

The facts is, peope are afraid of her popularity ,or ability to connect with everyday americans. So they attack.Republicans and Democrats

I am keeping an open mind abou Obama. Unlike some I accept the results of the election, and elections in General.

I also think that having just about everyone in this country who is in a position to create jobs with their wealth, is now moving tremndous pile of money out of the Economy, as they don’t want to pay 70 % in taxes.  It would be the WRONG thing to do right now, and hopefully, Obama knows it.  H. Wayne, who is a democrat, and one of the greatest persons in this country in regards to helping others,, who has created 10’s of thousands of Jobs over the years, moving his money out?  That is a bad sign, and something you will see more of.  You don’t create jobs by raising the tax rates, and giving their money to someone else. I am sure you have seen the Youtube video of the very emotional lady with 3 kids who was estatic that she wont have to pay for gas, will get a house now etc etc, because he is taking care of all that. you know how many people think that he is really planning on doing that? He won’t but people are counting on it.  I wonder what will happen when he is accused of “selling Out”?  Even his buddies at “ Moveon.org are taking out full page ads in the NY Times ( because they really need the money) reminding Obama who got hm there.  That’s change ?  Seems like business as usual to me. I am still giving him the benefit of the doubt. I have seen the sell out accusation in almost every election during my time in Atlanta.

The Government does not owe you a house, gas in your car, or a check.  How do you think this Housing mess, which is the cause of the mess started?  Ask Barney and Mr Dodd.

My pointe to Justine, and I even said it wasn’t an attack, but what made him qualified to run for council if she wasn’t qualified to run for office? Legitimate question, and a little deeper than “what do you read”.

also, I would love to see the Unedited version of that interview. The Charlie Gibson interview, was HIGHLY edited, and when you watched the uneditted version, it gives different context to the questions and answers.  So, to say that interview was the Gospel is nonsense.

Prop 8.  I am all for people who love each other, to have the rights to do so, but guess what?  The people voted and it did not pass. So that is an excuse to beat up old ladies?  no it does not.  some of you say the election process is only good when it goes you way. It did not pass. The PEOPLE voted.  More people voted no than yes. That’s the system. Should it be that the system is only good when it goes a certain way?  They are protesting churches, when in fact, it was african americans who were the decisive difference in that vote.  Why are they not potesting black people for voting that way?  I saw one person answer, “ we dont want to be seen as politically incorrect” yeah… ok, that makes sense.

It is troubling to me when people think, vote my way or it’s wrong. Agree with me or your wrong. That is not a democracy.

    BTW just looked it up .... Bollinger, yesterday’s vintage, 16.99 at C & B

Cappell, see, even with you, you are entitled to your opinion, but just like the Carl Cameron reports, how do you know the Hotel workers were on mind altering drugs/ you don’t, so see? you do the same thing you you hate other who you hinnk are doing it.  A little Stuart Therapy.  look in the mirror. Other than that, your opinions are just your own, as mine are.

  33. .Cincy<>Capell. says:

Honestly, where does wingnut “R” come up with this stuff??? Who said anything about hotel workers on drugs? The NY Post retraction satirically said that it’s source must have been on drugs to have relayed that false story to them. You should actually take the time to read the comment next time before replying to it.

You were clearly drunk at 3am when you posted that pitiful, typo ridden reply, “R”. Weren’t you?

How did you check the Cork ‘n Bottle’s price on Bollinger at 3am?? You are caught in yet another lie. Again. For the record, the Cork’s price on Bollinger is currently $59.97. Wholesale in that bottle is approximately $43.00, as retailers suck as the Cork & Party Source work on a 25% gross profit margin on upscale items such as Bolly. And there is no “yesterday’s vintage” on Special Cuvee, dummy. It’snon-vintage Champagne. Bollinger’s vintage champagne is Grand Anee & R.D., both of which will improve for years, and neither is on close out at the Cork, or anywhere else for that matter.

And what, no further defence of your smear job about Mrs. Obama’s lunch? HA!

What a desperate defence of Palin’s performance to claim that it was ‘highly edited’. Not even the McCain camp nor Palin herself even made such a ludicrous claim. you have been shown to be a liar and smear merchant yet again “R”. You are a laughing stock, just like your hero Caribou Barbie herself.

You are entitled to your own set of opinions, “R”, but you are not entitled to your own set of facts. Sober up before you post again, use spell check next time and fact check your diatribes before posting them.

  34. cincysuz says:

"I never said anything regarding the Waldorf. I know that is not the Hotel in Question.  It was lunch not dinner.” Now you’re trying to squirm out of your lies by pretending that you have knowledge of an extravagant lunch that Michelle Obama ate? Say Mrs. Obama did eat a nice noon meal and you have a proof positive of it. Compare that to Cindy McCain’s monthly $750,000 American Express bill, their 8 homes and $300,000+ convention outfit. Now I’m going to resist bringing up all the details of her drug years. Suffice it to say that after the family intervention, when they thought all was forgotten, the DEA got involved and it was proven that McCain stole drugs intended for dying people and ended up sentenced to community service. Makes you wonder why she wasn’t banned forever from being involved in the kind of organization that provided, what? Pain medicine for people with medical conditions overseas, again where she won’t face the U.S. stringent regulations. Well her current “charity” does just that. Deja vu all over again.

And Palin? Well it’s all been said. Soccer mom’s buying trips didn’t start with this campaign. She’s been accused by the State of Alaska of charging a New York shopping spree, complete with luxury hotel and first class plane fare for the entire family.

    Michelle Obama? Please.

I find it ironic that R complains about sources relaying stories about Governor Palin to the press that don’t have the ‘courage’ to put their names to their stories, yet R refuses to post under his own name. To add to his hypocrisy, R cites a source that he allegedly knows at the Waldorf-Astoria who saw Michell Obama’s alleged lunch bill, yet won’t supply that sources name nor does he have the courage of his own convictions to sign his own name to his post.

Why do I have the distinct feeling that R is as much of a Democrat as I am a Republican?

For the record, I happened to be shopping at the Cork & Bottle’s store in Covington this evening on my way home from the office. Champagne Bollinger is in fact $59.99, and there is no ‘older vintage’ on clearance sale. in fact, the vintage stuff is over $100 per bottle! Ye gods!! This just goes to show that readers of the Beacon should disregard anyting that Mr. R (for Republican??) Writes.

It was also disrespectful of you to call Mr. Jeffre by a feminine name. Perhaps it was not intentional though, after seeing the hour that you posted. I have a feeling that alcohol might have been involved, no?

This is all academic of course, but it adds up to the fact the the poster calling himself R has been thoroughly ‘pwned’, as the kids say. And as to R, well, as Thomas Jefferson said: “A coward is much more exposed to quarrels than a man of spirit.”

"Wholesale in that bottle is approximately $43.00, as retailers suck as the Cork & Party Source work on a 25% gross profit margin on upscale items such as Bolly.”

Sorry, that should have read ‘Wholesale on that bottle [of Bollinger] is approximately $43.00, as retailers such as the Cork & Party Source work on a 25% gross profit margin on upscale items such as Bolly.’

I was laughing too hard at “R” and made a typo. But seriously, it does sucks that champagne has become so damn expensive!

  37. So What says:

What do Michelle Obama and champagne have to do with Sarah Palin?

  38. anon says:

"What do Michelle Obama and champagne have to do with Sarah Palin?”

It proves that R is a smear merchant and a liar.
