Interdenominational Ministers Alliance Endorses a YES VOTE on Issue 8

Posted by Media Release

The Cincinnati NAACP is proud to announce that the Interdenominational Ministers Alliance has endorsed a YES VOTE on ISSUE 8.  President Bishop Wilkins says, “ As an independent leader and President of the IMA we urge a YES VOTE on Issue 8. The National Democratic Party uses Proportional Representation (PR) and it played a key role in the nomination of Senator Obama.”

The Cincinnati NAACP understands that the current Cincinnati Winner-Take-All System was put in place by the Republican Party in 1957 to oppress all other voices but BIG BUSINESS.  Smitherman says, “ Cincinnati City Council recently voted to cut all Human Service Resources in the Over-The-Rhine 8 to 1 at a time when unemployment is 7.5% in the State of Ohio and over 20% in the African-American Community.”

The two major political parties cut a deal for the November 4th Election and have 14 Republicans running unopposed including Joe Deters. The Cincinnati NAACP urges a YES vote 8 to break up the “Boss Cox” and corruption in Cincinnati.

    Way to Go IMA!

  2. CAJONE says:

Citizens Against Joe Oriented Negative Embellishment wonders, who are the Interdenominational Ministers ; and why should we pay any attention to them? We also wonder when the NAACP is going to address, and advance, the consciousness of the black drug gangs, that kill one another on our street corners?

  3. says:

Cajone I truly hope you come out to CAJA protest on Friday.  I got you some nuts.  You’re angry and hateful and you don’t have to be.  Now, under Smitherman’s leadership the NAACP continues to grow and tackle many issues important to our communities.

However, let-us-no-forget the Gangbangers/thugs in suits. They pal around in pay-to-play politics causing folks to lose their life savings, homes, etc (some folks have committed suicide with a gun) Did you hear about the 90 year old grandmother who shot herself in the temple? She didn’t die.) Dr. Odell Ownes often talks about these type of suicides.

It’s easy to blame one group in society while ignoring the horrific behavior of racist, sexist, thugs in suits.

NO ONE SUPPORTS CRIME.  WE ALL WANT A BETTER AMERICA.  YOU ONLY WANT A NUT!

  4. CAJONE says:

Everyone who isn’t at your protest will be supporting Joe. Count who shows up, then do the math.

  5. says:

    Cajone--

You only have to read the blogs, the rag Enquirer, or contact Chris R. and that will tell you what Cincinnnatians think about Joe and people like you.  Our group will draw a solid crowd--rain or shine bring your homemade sign.

If you get a chance turn on LW’s show 1230 wdbz (fm)at 10:00 10-23 (tomm) our group will be on the show. You take a listen and you’ll see what folks think of the other half our your nut, Joey D.

Anyway, you need to grow a pair. I bet you won’t show at the protest. You will NEVER approach me.  If you really have a pair, and I doubt that you do, come to the protest and introduce yourself.  I dare you.  Bring your video camera… we will have ours.  Yes on 7. Yes on 8.

  6. says:

Where can I get a “Yes on 8” yard sign?

  7. says:

    Mark Miller

Call 513.281.1900 they should be able to help you get a Yes on 8 sign.

NAACP - The Mission of the NAACP is to ensure the political, educational, social and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate racial hatred and racial discrimination.

Just wanted to make sure C.A.Jone had an opportunity to know what the NAACP work in progress is about. Can never repeat that too many times. The boldness of all is a quirk of mine.

C.A.? The IMA website with contact information is noted here.
I know them to work across many boundaries in their spiritual and civic capacities
    to assist a wider community.

CAJD, do you think, perhaps, we can help folks that don’t get out and about much to understand many of the activists throughout the city and area?  The Beacon helps us get this information out. And IF naysayers did show up at various functions, wouldn’t that be cool?  And if they can’t, well, programs just keep moving along.
Some people just feel that seeking solutions becomes too hard or too deep a task for very active participation---if they really want the information/participation they will appear sooner or later.

Mr. Ware has been tackling some of the tougher issues in the last few months and keeping dialogue going. This Deters mess will work itself out as long as independent thinking folks of varied backgrounds keep participating in sorting through the real facts.

    Here’s the IMA materials:

    http://www.imacincinnati.org/Home_Page.html
is the IMA website. Check out their new 2008/2009 officers. Perhaps there are names you recognize or have worked with in the past. They are active in outreach through churches in our area.

  9. CAJONE says:

Jenny, I’m well aware of the NAACP and their recent efforts under the guidance of Smitherman. Unfortunatly I see them in a different light than you. What I see is an all out effort to remove culpability from black criminals and lay it at the feet of the rest of society. Please fill me in on what the NAACP is doing to abate violent crimes committed by blacks. Since the vast majority of violent crimes committed by blacks, are aimed at other blacks; shouldn’t the NAACP be focusing their efforts there? You also seem to hold Lincoln Ware in High esteem. Personally, I tend to think of him in the same light as Bill Cunningham; He seems to be all about raising his profile above all others; at the expense of saying something productive.

  10. says:

Thank you Jenny Edwards.  I agree folks from various backgrounds working together can change America.  I really like the Beacon because most of the comments written on the Enquirer website are just like comments written by Cajone.  Just full of pure hatred.  They think the NAACP means anti-other races. It does not!  I was happy to introduce myself to JJ from the Beacon.  He spoke on behalf of Nader at tonights meeting. Nobody boooed him.  He was passionate and we listened. I don’t support Nader. But maybe I would if Obama wasn’t running.  I supported (Perot) back in the day. If I lived in Hamilton County I’d vote for Dole and Rothenberg simply because they had the guts to take on the status quo. (Please Cincysuz don’t write and tell me who I should support and for what reason)

I will continue and try to educate and motivate folks to care about issues.  Some folks just sit on their behinds and complain. As if a solution is going to fall out of the sky.  That’s why I respect Smitherman. He’s a NAACP volunteer trying to make our communites better.  Some think that if you work to improve one community, another community will lose out. When in fact, it’s the opposite.  It’s a win-win situation for everybody.

Jenny Edwards I wish you could make it to the protest (not to protest) but I’d like to meet you.

On another note Kevin Osbourne in City Beat included CAJD in a story. It was really cool!

  11. JennyEdwards says:

    C.A.Jone

Simple for you to find out is visit and ask questions. There are a wide range of NAACP members and perhaps you would see someone that you already have a connection to that would be the better person to help you understand. I’m not a greatly social person, but when needing answers to issues deemed of concern to me it is necessary to interact and find other’s views and works.

The NAACP has gained more a sense of individual self under Smitherman’s leadership, drawing upon folks from a wider reach of experiences...note I did not say expertise....experiences that impact the Greater Cincinnati area. Expertise is there, but each member challenges themselves to reach beyond where they are comfortable. And every NAACPer locally is not always in agreement on each issue BUT tries to work as effectively as they can to bring solutions to an area as simple as their own block to their neighbrohood to other areas that are looking at similar issues.

Progressive, positve effects coalitions are sorely needed, C.A.

Looks like we both missed yesterday’s NAACP general membership meeting. My time was in a session looking at addressing overall violence for my neighborhood in partnership with other Cincinnati communities. I deliver this, as does Justin, the Dean, MEP and many others who come to the Beacon, because AS INDIVIDUALS we do have greater empowerment to gather solutions. C.A., the greatness, the more stealthy abilities of any organization comes from the efforts of the individuals as simply A CITIZEN. Bitch, gripe moan and complain may be your starter fuel to accessing effective solutions............or, it could be just your mantra.

Violence and crime are taking the lives of many black men and women. Thank you for noticing these matters. There is a group called Who Killed Our Kids that focuses on pressing for solutions to unsolved murders.

“What I see is an all out effort to remove culpability from black criminals and lay it at the feet of the rest of society.” Jeez Louise, C.A., since it seems that you really do not get out of the house much, I’m wondering how much you see of this as overall crime? Looking at justice is what has been undertaken for a long time. JUSTICE for all, C.A.  Looking deeper than your own space. And justice goes further than just crime and violence; justice goes to the heart and spirit of both individuals and communities.  Look to JUSTICE, C.A. before condemning a wider group of people who see these issues under the J word.

Let me ask, as my time is tight.  What five efforts do you exert to help you in these matters that you are having difficulty with? Are they efforts you employ in your neighborhood? In your daily and personal work?

    Have a great weekend folks.

  12. CAJONE says:

City Beat’s article did not mention “cajd” anywhere; they did not include any mention of a protest either.

  13. says:

Cajone had you attended tonights NAACP you would know what Smitherman and the NAACP and folks like myself are doing to solve B on B crime.  Unfortunately the NAACP’s effort on those issues DON’T MAKE THE NEWS.  At last nights meeting the group voted to colloborate and donate to two organizations working to reduce crime in our neighborhoods and to make our facilities a safe haven for youth.  But you didn’t know that did you buddy?

Now let’s talk about what you’re doing to solve the growing addiction to Meth that’s devastating the community where I live.  (Another issue I’m working on) Let’s talk about the politicians aka thugs-in-suits who ruin our communities.  Read ‘Confessions of a Political Hitman’

I feel silly responding to you Cajone.  Clearly, the word hate is branded on your heart. And it’s shameful.

See you at the protest! Mr. Mock.  Rain or shine!

  14. R says:

Question.  Why is someone who asks what the black community is doing about black on black crime, they are labeled hate filled?

    Please explain that to me.

  15. says:

    probe.html

Cajone above is the article. We missed you at the Protest. It was a nice turnout despite the rain.  Representatives from Cole and Dole;s office. News orgs were presetn Wxix. WE STRESSED THAT WE DO NOT SUPPORT CRIME. WE HAD A DIVERSE GROUP AND ALL WENT WELL. YES ON 7.  YES ON 8.

  16. says:

    In response to R’s comment # 14.

No one that I know of labels people who ask what the black community is doing about crime as being hateful.  What pisses me off is when you have groups working to make a difference in the community....folks come out of the wood works telling you what you should do. What cause you should take up. Why don’t they? There’s always going to be the Great Deflectors who want the spotlight taken of their crimes.

For instance if the cause I’m passionate about is women’s rights because I was once denied equal pay, what gives someone the right to tell me what issue I should focus on?  But people do it all the time. They’ll say, “why do you focus on the women’s rights, or the elderely, or the meth heads, why don’t you go save the whales.”

So back to your question R.  No one is a racist (not everyone anyway when they question B on B crime). However, instead of pointing one finger at someone, why don’t they wake up and see that three fingers are pointing back at them to do something.

  17. JFD says:

    #13

Cajone had you attended tonights NAACP you would know what Smitherman and the NAACP and folks like myself are doing to solve B on B crime.  Unfortunately the NAACP’s effort on those issues DON’T MAKE THE NEWS.

Let me jump in here. That’s because Smitherman keeps crying wolf about racism where it doesn’t exist. Instead of taking on, the biggest crime problem, blacks face; Chris keeps pointing the finger at the police, the prosecutor, and anyone else that isn’t a part of that problem. Far more blacks are killed by other blacks than the police. Where are the non-stop press releases condemning black on black violence? Is opposition to red light cameras going to stem the flow of black blood in the streets? You say the NAACP is donating some money; how much? Who is getting it, and what is it to be used for?

Now let’s talk about what you’re doing to solve the growing addiction to Meth

Meth? Are you kidding me; you want to change the subject to meth?

  18. says:

JFD you’ve missed the point.  I don’t know what your race is but clearly you are DEAD WRONG. Clearly you are aware that racisim is more alive than ever. And now you’ve also joined the band of telling people/orgs. what to do. Many groups, and people focus on B on B crime. I write a B on B crime, if you will, youth column. But I also fight hard just like Smitherman to end racial disparities in sentencing and to bring fairness to people of color - Closing the Legal Gap. Pick up any newspaper, on any given day in any newspaper in America. And you’ll see the disparities in the legal justice system.

The reason I brought up meth is because the community where I lived is being devastated by young people using meth and our community is working on that. But who has the right to tell me or anybody what cause they should be working on or how many press releases they should send out.

JFD people have the right to take up whatever cause they want?

  19. JFD says:

cajd, I’m not dead and I’m not wrong.

    #18.

Clearly you are aware that racism is more alive than ever.

Are you referring to Smitherman’s racially divisive agenda?

    #18

And now you’ve also joined the band of telling people/orgs. what to do.

Apparently, you mistook a question, for a directive.

    #17

You say the NAACP is donating some money; how much? Who is getting it, and what is it to be used for?

This is a question. You did not give an answer to it. This is not a not a directive to the NAACP.

    #18

Many groups, and people focus on B on B crime.

When will the NAACP start to focus on black on black crime?

    #18

But who has the right to tell me or anybody what cause they should be working on or how many press releases they should send out.

The question about press releases, arose out of Smitherman’s seemingly endless flurry of press releases, taking up the cause for people, who should not be surprised their actions brought them into contact with the justice system. I simply wondered why the President of the NAACP, didn’t give a huge problem for the black community, the same press as his other agenda. Will you please explain it to me?

  20. Cappa Cacia says:

Focus on black on black crime? Not a wider or deeper focus?
Why not individuals focusing on crime?  You and me? Citizens like us?
Making reports to police or sheriffs when crimes happen or are happening.
Using the myriad of contacts to report all crime. Join a street watch, block watch, citizens on patrol.

Police and sheriffs departments play the people in a paramilitary crossfire of information, one side being better at crimestopping than the other at solving.
Both need more information from citizens than they currently get.

Make no doubt here, these are good people (police sheriffs) who make a deep decision on helping and serving their community. The come in many shades of color, too. Many are partnered with tons of family members in the same service. Much like families attuned to the military, politics, business, law, plumbing, etc. Sometimes a family develops an affinity to a line of work where ther have personal support away from the job as well as community support for business.

But the spirit of community says that all of our eyes need to be open and effective in providing information. Providing information even if it’s just a pattern of repetition that looks suspicious. We need to provide the police and sheriff much more information that they can set in overlays to better pinpoint areas and people most susceptible to attracting or committing various crimes.

Smitherman becomes an easy target as he takes personal responsibility to challenge anyone he meets to make their areas better. He’s made more clean ups in blighted areas than any leader situated in council now, or in the mayor’s seat ever. (Blight and litter are some of the groundwork in a crime ridden area.) He challenges you to not take the easy route and become steeped in your own prejudices, to escape that form of slavery. If he fires up your indignation that’s great! Perhaps he’s freeing some of the shackles of prejudicial racism and racism from some participants here.  Everyone wants to challenge the SmitherMan but no one wants to challenge themselves to take responsibilities.

Both Prejudice and Racism are mired in ego, fear, and feelings born in what we feel we are entitled to without having to lift a finger to earn the privilege. That applies to peopple from any cultural, social, and economic situations.
http://www.uua.org/documents/idbm/racism.pdf from the Universalist Unitarians may shed some light on these afflictions.

Lastly, attend events sponsored by or an NAACP general meeting some time soon. Many of us have provided enough open invitations and the NAACP does well in answering questions. Those sessions hold active participants of the NAACP that can speak with you.  The only folks we ever hold hostage are those committeed to working for community solutions, not knee-jerk solutions based on skin color.

    FW as CC

  21. says:

#20 CC-- Point well taken.  It takes everybody.

JFD - We’re going back and forth.  You say why doesn’t Smitherman? I say why don’t you.  I say he’s addressing many issues. You say he should just address B on B crime...send out press releases on B on B crime.  Why don’t you?

Question JFD--what, if any, issues do you tackle?

  22. says:

JFD (aka Bill Landeck) drives a silver pickup truck to the Clifton Heights Community Forums and puts forth brainchildren like C.H.A.R.M.

Yes, that’s right—the Clifton Heights Armed Response Militia.

    How’s that recruitment going, Bill?

  23. says:

    Wow! Should have known.

  24. says:

Are you referring to Smitherman’s racially divisive agenda?

JFD, what are you talking about? Smitherman has led three efforts to give voters a choice on different issues. He led broad coalitions from across the political spectrum. How is that racially divisive.

Smitherman worked to get more inclusion for minorities in major projects like the Banks. More jobs means less crime and violence.

JFD, how do you know where racism exists? Are you involved in any organizations that work on racial justice issues?

Joe Deters meets with the biggest and ugliest racists in the city and helps him come up with crap for his racist rag. He won’t condemn the slug who calls the mayor a “gay darkie” or Rosa Blackwell a “Mamie”. There is unequal enforcement under the law here in Hamilton County.

I think it’s funny that people who like to talk about personal responsibility aren’t up in arms about the bail out for the crooks on Wall Street that were cooking the books. Corporate crime in the suites hurts our communities more than crime in the streets. Think of all the people’s lives that have been shattered by the Enron’s of the world and we’re just seeing the beginning of this Wall Street mess. Instead of finger pointing and pushing your racially divisive agenda, you should try joining groups like the NAACP and working for real change and social justice. I don’t think parading around with guns is a solution.

  25. cincysuz says:

Did the NAACP really have an open ballot election for the critical office of the president? Rumors are always circulating and I’m sure The Beacon can clear this one up. It’s been said by some disgruntled members that there were no other candidates for president and no opportunity for write-ins and that voting was done during an open meeting without a secret ballot. Some members complained that with everyone knowing everyone else’s vote, it was too intimidating to be a dissenting voice or vote.

I know this has to be just a rumor. The NAACP trumpets but one message over and over. That every elected position should have an opposing candidate so that there’s a choice or preferably many choices and making sure that dissenting voices can carry some weight in an election. Isn’t that what PR’s about? So I’m sure this is just a rumor.

  26. JFD says:

This reminds me of the time Justin and Jason were chasing Phil Heimlich around a parking lot asking him questions. They weren’t complex questions, but Phil sure didn’t want to answer them. Remember your response; when he changed the subject to Jason’s home foreclosure issues? This is a lot like that.

I’m just trying to nail down the answers to these questions. If they get answered, then I’ll have a better idea of what the NAACP is doing about black on black crime.

“ Where are the non-stop press releases condemning black on black violence? Is opposition to red light cameras going to stem the flow of black blood in the streets? You say the NAACP is donating some money; how much? Who is getting it, and what is it to be used for?”

  27. JFD says:

    cajd #21

Question JFD--what, if any, issues do you tackle?

Crime for one, on Thursday afternoon of last week, while working on a ladder; I witnessed five black teenagers attack a five foot nothing, one hundred pound female, in an effort to steal her book bag. All five had their hands on her, as they put her down on the ground. I got off of the ladder and went after them; catching one. As I escorted him back to the scene of the crime to wait for the police, I endured a string of obscenities that included, “white motherfucker”, numerous times. (Justin, does that count as racism?) When the police arrived they handcuffed him and put him in the back of a cruiser. The victim identified him as one of her attackers, and he was taken downtown for processing. (Justin, given the racial slurs I endured after the crime, and that the victim was white; would this be considered a racially motivated crime?)

BTW, I’m still trying to nail down the answers to these questions.

    #8

The Mission of the NAACP is to ensure the political, educational, social and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate racial hatred and racial discrimination.

I’d like to add anther question. What, if anything, is the NAACP doing to combat racially motivated crime involving blacks as the perpetrators? Most of the criminals arrested for serious crimes in my neighborhood, come from other parts of town, and are black. The victims in almost all cases are white. If the previous statement by Jenny, is true, then shouldn’t the NAACP be expected to take action?

  28. says:

JFD, do you really think non-stop press releases will stop crime?

It seems to me that the key to preventing violence and crime is improving education and creating more opportunities. The NAACP has adopted a school, they have worked to get more economic inclusion in major development deals and they have worked to address the racial disparity in the criminal justice system.

The NAACP has worked to stop regressive taxes (that disproportionatley hurt the poor), they have worked to stop bad public policies and to improve our democracy by giving voters more choices. They’ve done all of this by building coalitions and working with groups accross the political spectrum.

I don’t think these crimes are racially motivated.

  29. JFD says:

    So the answers are:
There are no press releases, because there is no program to combat black on black violence.

Red light camera opposition, is not going to do anything to stop black on black violence.

The donations mentioned by cajd were just a smokescreen, and have nothing to do with stopping black on black violence.

The NAACP has no program, and expressed no interest in a program, to combat racially motivated crimes.

    JJ #28

It seems to me that the key to preventing violence and crime is improving education and creating more opportunities.

Family structure, and to a lesser extent, education and jobs; are the key.

  30. cincysuz says:

Well, did #25 happen or not? A simple question.

  31. says:

JFD, I already answered your question, the program is getting to the root cause of crime and violence which is poverty and inequality in educational and economic opportunities. Why are you complaining because the NAACP led another petition drive to give you and other voters a choice on different issues like the red light cameras? They are protecting everybodies civil liberties.

Nobody challenged Smitherman, but anyone could’ve. There was no Republicratic styled backroom deal. Smitherman has led three successful petition drives, nearly tripled the membership. He worked to get more minority inclusion on the Banks deal, they adopted a school and have been shining a light on the racial disparity in the criminal justice system.

I think every active member in the NAACP is happy with his leadership. If somebody isn’t happy with his leadership they should’ve challenged him. If you and your friend cincysuz want the NAACP to do something it’s not currently doing you should join and make proposals. You can even run for President instead of just being whiney white people that think they should tell the NAACP what to do.

JFD, if you want them to put out nonstop press release about violence and the family structure why don’t you join and make the proposal. You might even find people that agree with you.

  32. says:

I agree the crooks on wall street seem to get a get-out-jail-free-card.  Or they are granted “impunity stamps” (sort of like food stamps) And this latest thing with the Alaskan Senator being convicted (1 of only 5 Senators...ever!Wow!)Why is it that crooks in suits get away? Having said that it’s easy to point fingers and criticize instead of doing something.

It’s like me telling the Cincinnati Beacon to stop taking on political issues...why don’t you gear your efforts towards saving the earth.  I don’t have the right to do that. I’m just glad if people are doing something.

Now JFD you talk about a crime you witnessed and that’s unfortunate...still your hateful comments do nothing to motivate people. I’m inspired by comments 20 or 28, or JE or JJ comments. There are ways to get people on board to your way of thinking. Attacking people is not the way.

    Listen and learn....

  33. cincysuz says:

Whiney white people? And what are you? I think you’ve really come to believe that you actually aren’t white and that you speak for black people. You’re funny you silly goose.

  34. JFD says:

    #32

There are ways to get people on board to your way of thinking. Attacking people is not the way.

Sounds like you owe Joe Deters an apology. Also, why do you attack me, when I’ve made no hateful comments?

  35. cincysuz says:

Oh, and how come the NAACP didn’t work to find an opposing candidate? That’s your mantra isn’t it? Was there some backroom deal to keep Christopher in that position? Not everybody is as happy as you might think. Wha’s up??????

    http://www.cincinnatibeacon.com/index.php/contents/comments/photo_essay_naacp_vote_march_2007/

People on different sides of a coin in the city of Cincinnati LINED UP around the block to VOTE on a matter (NAACP Leadership) that brought a record number out. Two sides that were civil in a vital turn of Cincinnati History (not white history or black history...CINCINNATI HISTORY). My plate was “too full” to be a member at that juncture...or so I felt. Taking pictures helps embrace moments that are lasting and of significant import. This day was incredibly splendid. People hovering at the windows to watch the faces as they came through to cast their ballots....BOE members directing the process of a most important election...and lingering after the last voter had cast their ballot to await the outcome.  Important in CINCINNATI HISTORY to change from status quo to individual ownership of tasks and directions.

Next, look at both the local website http://www.naacpcincinnati.org
    and http://www.naacp.org

On the latter you can catch the Mission Statement that I quoted, it’s right there on the back of my membership card. The truth is, Bill, the work of the NAACP is steeped and based in that statement. A statement I use when engaging people about joining because those succinct words and the memory of that election in March 2007 are kindredly important to my work in life and community. All of you questions have been answered here by folks like JJ and CAJD.  You’ve been issued invitations to attend, visit, join. Knowing your alliances with some key matters that you felt were unjust, this may be a forum you could grow comfortably uncomfortable working within to help you address matters and get some work done.  That’s why many of us ally with the local chapter on many matters.

So you are okay with white on white crime,
white on black crime, black on white crime....you just want membership of the local chapter to take care of BLACK ON BLACK CRIME?????
When you came down your ladder last week I do not believe that for one minute it mattered a rat’s hindparts whether the assailants in the attack on the young lady were balck, white or Martin green........something WRONG was happening......you stopped the matter....will probably testify.  That’s what I know of Bill Landeck who normally refers as JFD/JailForDale.  BECAUSE it was wrong you sought to make it right.  Please, please tell me I am incorrect here about your intention.

I bring those matters out because crime is CRIME. No matter the act. And deterrents do not work by leaving it to the police....we have to take ownership and we have to issue efforts as individuals and groups that let the police, politicians and other elected officials know we, as the PEOPLE WHO ELECTED THEM and PAY THEM for their services that WE ARE GOING TO BE HELPING.....and there are many ways to help.  The local branch of the NAACP has made greater strides on your concerns than you have offered for the other COLOURS of CRIME in Cincinnati.
Read the websites, review the information you have here........and if you have a matter with leadership of the NAACP?  Ask our leadership for a meeting and bring your solutions.  On the same thought, when you attend meetings in the local communities, see if you can identify NAACP membersup in CUF, in West End, in OTR.....what do they look like? What do we do? What are we workig on? Don’t be scared, there are more of us out here (over 2,000 locally) and some even look like you.
